Looney Politicians and 911

Mom worries the most about politicians that she strongly believes are "just not in touch with realty". The reason this concerns her the most is that these politicians are actually "voted and many times kept in office by citizen voters who don't seem to notice or care that their elected officials are looney". This weekend while viewing the 911 Memorial Ceremonies Mom was inflamed by the interruption of one Michael Bloomberg, who folks up there claim is the mayor of New York City.

Evidently Bloomberg compared the Islamic Muslim Radical Terrorists who destroyed the World Trade Towers and murdered over 3,000 innocent people with the people who want to stop the construction of an Islamic Muslim Mosque near the site of the murders. This Islamic worship site is to be named after a Spanish mosque, Cordoba, that was built on the site of a Christian church to celebrate the Muslim conquest of Spain. The idiot mayor said both groups, terrorists and protesters, are trying to take away people's freedom. Mom just doesn't understand how you equate moving a mosque away from a sacred site with cowardly taking the lives of 3,000 innocent men, women, and children.

Bloomberg was then asked about the progress of plans to build on the site which was destroyed 9 full years ago as the TV camera showed the vacant lot with one crane in the background. Loonberg, which would be a more appropriate name, said he was very pleased with their progress since there were two railroad line underneath the site.

Bloomberg summed up his insane comments by saying the mosque issue was purely political and would go away after the November election. I guess he and the elites think they can build their mosque and merrily go on about their business once the rednecks get past their elections. Once the politicians get through this whole project will probably be corrupted costing tax payers money and tarnishing the memory of our lost heroes.

Meanwhile the real mayor, Rudy Giuliani, believes they should not even build a commercial building on the Twin Towers site but a memorial only.

Mom says, "Don't think this is just New York City's problem because many are rumoring that Bloomberg may run on a third party ticket in 2012 taking enough Republican votes to re-elect the Black Liberation Theologists currently in OUR White House much like Perot did for Clinton, not once but twice. Once re-elected and Barry doesn't have to worry about those pesky elections he will have Reverend Wright living in his own wing of the White House."

In the spirit of full disclosure you should know that Mom is upset about people meddling. Her Great Grand Daughter, Riley Ann, was recently forbidden to bring peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to school in looney Austin, Texas. Seems Riley Ann didn't like eating turkey burgers, turkey hot dogs, collard greens, and other professed to be healthy things in her school cafeteria. Then when she carried her lunch, the food Nazis said there might be children in school with allergies to Riley's peanut butter. I guess they thought they might steal her lunch. Trust me, Riley is tough and nobody is going to get her lunch.  So what does Riley eat now? Only cheetos!! All this in the pursuit of interfering in Riley's life to force her to be healthy.

Mom who is enjoying her 88th year says, "Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals, dying of nothing."

God Bless those who lost, and gave, their lives on 911 and their families (46 babies were born without parents who were lost on 911).   May God also give us the wisdom and courage to protect our innocents from evil in the days ahead.

Who Is This Guy Living In Our White House?

Things started off pretty negative. Butch Jackson, usually one of the most inspirational people to coffee way regular at the Cafe, was in a really bad mood. "Man, I got to drive all the way to Waco to try to find a Wilson Sureshot 5 Iron for my golf clubs vintage 1962. I know I can't find one but if I buy any kind of replacement it will make the old one show up that being the only way I find things these days."

Billy Roy countered, "Butch, that don't make a lot of sense. You sound like you are getting old and somewhat goofy."

"I am old, and it is somewhat worrisome."

"Why worry about old age when it don't last that long," BM pretty much closed down this part of the opening conversation. "Well things just keeping get upside down it seems like. Muslims are strapping suicide bombs to kids and women and planting them under any road they can find, and the Liberal Elite justify it right and left based on how we just aren't treating them right."

"They murder over 3,000 folks in the Twin Towers and now want to build a Muslim church to commemorate the event and anybody who calls them out on it is called a racist, redneck, and wacko.  Muslims burn American flags and Bibles all over the world, and then when some little preacher in Florida threatens to burn a Koran everybody from the President of the United States on down call him a wacko, and the guy gets regular visits from the FBI because they are afraid he is going to make the cowardly bombers mad.  Like they need a reason to lie, murder, lash, and stone women.  This all takes the focus off how the White House Guy is letting the Iranians build nuclear weapons which may be a bigger event than burning a Koran in front of your congregation of 50 with attendance of no more than 15 on any Sunday."

Butch was feeling much better now with his blood boiling and all, "BM, you rock in a country kinda way.  Can you believe the latest Liberal Elite press trick is to ask a Conservative if they think Obama is a Muslim hoping they will get a yes so they can jump on the guy with all the wacko, red neck, radical, racist terms.  Did you see that they asked Haley Barbour, the Governor from the great red state of Mississippi, why folks thought Obama was a Muslim, and he answered because people know less about this guy than any President in our history.  Just who would have believed in the year 2010 in these United States of America that people would be arguing over whether the guy living in the White House is, let me make a list here:

Muslim
Black Muslim
Black Liberation Theologists
A Reverend Wright Brand of a Christian
Socialist
Marxist
Communist
Extreme Liberal Elitist
Narcissist
And the very newest, An Anticolonialist

"Butch, where the hell did that one come from," BM inquired?

"From Obama's Dad. He was a Luo tribesman who grew up in Kenya and studied at Harvard. Obama Sr. spent his life trying to correct the plight of poor nations who suffered at the hands of the colonialist.  Folks claim his father's dreams are now Obama's dreams (Dreams from My Father).  Obama Sr. also was a polygamist who had, over the course of his lifetime, four wives and eight children. One of his sons, Mark Obama, has accused him of abuse and wife-beating. He was also a regular drunk driver who got into numerous accidents, killing a man in one and causing his own legs to be amputated due to injury in another. In 1982 he got drunk at a bar in Nairobi and drove into a tree, killing himself.  Clinton's dad was a polygamist and died drunk in a car wreck the same way," continued Butch who was pretty much talking to himself by now since the Cafe had pretty much cleared out.

BM called back to Butch on his cell, "Seems like Clinton and Obama are like birds of a feather that flock together, and then shit on your truck."

Think about it this Saturday it being  911,

Islam: Cafe Wants to Call Their Bluff, NOW

This writer was in Hubbard this weekend and while walking my dog, Max, I ran into an old buddy and former famous running back at Hubbard High and Navarro Junior College in the early-to-mid 50s, the one and only Dudley Castalow. Dudley and I both tried to come up with an old story or two that would be like new if the other hadn't heard it before (which is not unusual since we have been doing this for too many years to remember very easily). On this day Dudley got me. It seems an old friend named, Gerald Wayne Pursley, had fallen on hard economic times years ago and had driven up what would be called today "a deficit" around town. Well, Dudley says Gerald Wayne went down to J. D.'s Humble Gas Station and asked J. D. if he could write a $25 check for cash. J. D., knowing somewhat about this deficit thing, told Gerald he could, but there was a $15 charge for hot checks. Gerald carefully studied his situation before responding, "Well, in that case, J. D., you better make it for 40."

Not only Gerald, but several other Hubbard folks occasionally played, and still play, a card game named Texas Hold Em. So its not surprising that their card speak bleeds over into political discussions and pretty much everything else. Scott Riddle, who would take either side of any bet at any time for any amount of money with anybody waded into the whole topic of our problem with the Islamic world, "Time to call these Arabs bluff. They keep telling us that terrorists are a tiny number of Muslims, that the majority of Muslims are moderate, and that those who worship true Islam are practicing a very peaceful religion. In fact, anyone that doesn't buy into this explanation is being called a radical, racist, and is against the freedom of religion. Yet the terrorists turn their own children into human bombs in the name of Allah who they say has ordered them to either convert infidels to Islam or kill them. They call it Jihad."

"I couldn't agree more with the problem, Scott," Billy Roy, himself entered this conversation early which always draws considerable interest from the folks. "Even after 9/11 there are dummies who say that we must engage our terrorist enemies, that we must address their grievances. Heck, their grievance is our freedom of religion. Their grievance is our freedom of speech. Their grievance is our democratic process where the rule of law comes from the voices of many not that of just one crazy prophet. Heck, we instill respect in our children towards all religions to a fault in my opinion. Their grievance is the kindness and respect a gentleman shows a woman, the justice we practice as equals under the law, and the mercy we grant our enemy. Their grievances ain't going to be answered by any stinking Obama-type apologies. It just makes them feel we are impotent."

And here came Butch Jackson as usual with both feet, "Our sissy attitude of not confronting Islamic forces of bigotry and hatred wherever they raised their ugly head in the last 30 years, has empowered and strengthened these cowards to launch a full scale attack on the very freedoms we cherish in their effort to impose their values and way of life on our civilization. Scott, we are locked up in our agreement on this issue, but how do we call whose bluff?"

"The only folks that can really stop this terrorism as it exist today are those who claim to be 'Muslim Moderates'. They say they are against violence and terrorist acts, so we need to make them show it by calling their bluff. We need to wake up and challenge these Muslims to take action against the terrorists, and I don't mean just speaking out. They should completely cooperate with the non-Muslim world to capture or kill Islamic radicals. For the sake of our children and our country, we must wake up and take action. We must either call out these so called moderates to police their own people or assume they are supporters of Jihad themselves, and make them pay the price."

Billy Roy summed it up as usual, "Scott, it is almost as if Obama thinks once the Iranians get nuclear weapons then the free world will be too scared to take actions against the radicals, and he will somehow be off the hook. The time to put our chips on the table is right now."

Otherwise, as Gerald Wayne figured out, this country will have to write a much larger check.

Think about it,

Cafe Folks Explore Glenn Beck's Pursuit of Honor

Local retired banker and former right tackle, not to be confused with this writer's brother who played left tackle, D. L. Holiman quoted his hero Ronald Reagan before he had even sugered and saucered his coffee this morning, "Reagan said 'to say the federal government was spending money like drunken sailors would be to insult the sailors since they were at least spending their own money'. What would Reagan say about the Obama/Pelosi/Reid deficit. The CBO is projecting a fiscal year 2010 budget deficit of $1.34 trillion (with a T). Combined with the actual $1.41 trillion deficit from fiscal year 2009, the last 2 years will have created $2.75 trillion of debt. The 17 years from 1992 through 2008 created $2.62 trillion of debt. We thought George Bush with two wars and a Democratic Congress (Pelosi/Reid) was going crazy and even they kept the deficit under $400B."

Billy Roy, who it seems at times has regular dialogue with Reagan and others who have passed on but left big footprints, was quick to repond to the what would Reagan do question, "He said more than once that 'government would not solve the problem, that government was the problem'. Scotty, what's your take on this mess?"

"Dr. Martin Luther King's niece, Dr. Alveda King nailed it this weekend at Glenn Beck's shindig in Washington when she said 'Our material gains are going the way of our moral losses'. Our economic problems are piling up on top of the corruption and immorality of our society," answered Scotty Andersen, local insurance tycoon, father of a college football player and coach, and choir leader from the very largest Baptist church in downtown Hubbard City. "Glenn Beck's Pursuit of Honor Rally leap frogged politics and went right to the heart of most of our nation's problems (and even the World's) that being 'God is the Answer'. Beck's historical research discovered some Pre-American Revolution church ministers called the Black Robe Regiment (because of the robes they wore). They preached that all men had the same rights, and these rights came from God, not from the King of England back then (nor even from Obama/Pelosi/Reid today). Their sermons roused the folks starting 30 years before the actual Revolution. People like Jefferson, Adams, Franklyn, and Washington were mentored by these preachers. Their principles and values laid down the foundation for our Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Republican form of government that has created the greatest country in world history."

"Sarah Pallin said, 'we don't need to transform this country like some (Obama himself) are calling for, but we need to restore our Nation to our original values'. She was speaking as the mother of a soldier, not a politician. I saw the whole thing on Facebook, and it was way too serious to be about something as rotten as politics what with our soldiers and veterans being celebrated and all," Butch Jackson piped in showing some substantial knowledge of the subject matter at hand which is not that unusual.

Banker D. L. pushed a tough question to Butch, "What about Beck calling our President a racist?"

"Beck apologized which he shouldn't have in my opinion," Butch was anxious to respond liking the easy questions as he does. "He amended his statement to say that Obama practiced Liberation Theology like his Rev. Wright. That theology practiced in some Black Churches is racist as well as having Marxist roots and contrary to most Christian beliefs. Everyone should google 'Liberation Theology' to see what we are dealing with at the highest levels of our government or else if you guys would like to stay around another hour and a half, I'll be happy to give a tutorial."

As usual, Billy Roy summed it up as folks were racing from the Cafe to their trucks, "Well if Glenn Beck keeps talking against liars, thieves, racists, bigots, cheaters, and political pimps he is sure going to make a lot of enemies who will be calling for his scalp. They seem to want to all call him a 'hatemonger', and I guess that means he sorta hates liars, thieves, racists, bigots, cheaters, and political pimps. Seems to me it is not such a bad bunch to line up against. But that's about all I know about it."

Me too,

Jim

Even J. D. Couldn't Make This Up

J. D. Phelps, deceased, former operator of the Humble Gas Station on the Corsicana Highway, philosopher with no equal in all of Central Texas, driver of a fine Mercury automobile, and previous daily frequenter of the County Line Beer Joint on the Waco Highway had no equal when it came to spinning tales. J. D. could put hair on any story and never crack a smile. Most think he was a little bit crazy, but most chickens think the same thing about most foxes. Anyway, the folks at the Cafe, when completely bored, play a game named after Mr. Phelps called "Even J. D. Couldn't Make This Up".

Joe B. Heard, resident of Irene, Texas, population of not many, and former home of this writer's first and only spouse, tossed the ball up to start by reading semi-verbatim the following newspaper item:

"ALBANY, N.Y. -- New York Gov. David Paterson on Thursday promised to finally start collecting taxes on cigarettes sold by Native American stores (that would be Indians in plain talk), despite state police warnings that such enforcement could result in 'violence and death'."

"The state plans to collect a $4.35-per-pack sales tax on cigarettes sold by Native American retailers to non-Indian customers beginning next Wednesday."

"Tribes have refused to collect the tax, citing their sovereignty and treaties dating to 1794. The last time the state tried to collect the tax, in 1997, protests erupted and tires were burned on the Thruway, shutting down a 30-mile stretch. Hell, sounds like a return to Little Big Horn."

"There will be quite an uprising and protest to this, but I am going to maintain this policy," Paterson said.

"This is a very dangerous situation," he told WOR-AM Thursday. "There is a -- I think -- high alert. The State Police tells us over and over again that there could be violence and death as a result of some of the measures we're taking. Somebody would have to tell Paterson because he is literally blind as a drunk Saturday night bat.  I'm not lying.  I've seen him on TV."

"Seneca Indian President Barry Snyder has repeatedly said 'violence is not on our agenda,' but the nation's leadership acknowledges that some of the tribe's more than 7,000 members might disagree. I never knew an Indian chief named Barry. Only in New York."

"The tax on Indian cigarettes is expected to generate about $200 million a year in revenue. Tribal retailers would still be able to sell cigarettes tax-free to members. Sounds like they are encouraging Indians to smoke, I guess the State doesn't mind killing off some of the tribes with them throwing tires in the street, huh?"

"New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg recently said the governor should act like a cowboy with a shotgun and enforce the state tax law.  What dumb asses.  Most cowboys don't shoot shotguns."

"Paterson called those comments "inappropriate." The mayor's remarks also drew sharp criticism from the Senecas and Oneidas. Oneida Nation Representative Ray Halbritter said Bloomberg's imagery was as distasteful to his tribe as if someone urged Nazis to take action against Jews. These are awfully big words for an Indian."

Joe B's reading just about took all of the wind out the game for most of the serious players. Sweet Lou Tekell, former All District wide receiver so he wouldn't have to block too much, limped in with an "Even J. D. Couldn't Make This Up" story about the profoundly Liberal former General Wesley Clark. Sweet Lou says, "Clark was interviewed this weekend in support of Obama's strategy in the good war, that being Afghanistan. Clark said we had 100,000 troops there for two good reasons. First to go after Al Queda even though Al Queda has left Afghanistan and gone to Pakistan, Somolia, Yemen, and even Mexico. Secondly, we need the troops in Afghanistan in case a war breaks out between Pakistan and India. And that was it. He never mentioned the Taliban who are the guys we are fighting and Obama is trying to make peace with. Seems like Liberal Generals like to have lots of troops in places where there is no enemy." Sweet Lou finished third in the game.

Coming in second place was JJ Weatherby, ancestor of the former Ford dealer in Hubbard City for years before it closed because just about everything else in Hubbard had already closed. J. J's entry was, "J. D. could not make up a story where the Federal Government bankrupts G.M., gives them $50 billion with a 'b', stiffs stock and bond holders breaking all bankruptcy laws, gives the Unions 17% ownership in the company, lays off thousands of workers, closes dozens of plants, closes hundreds of dealerships, and then, and then (I repeat for emphasis) takes G.M public again to make Goldman Sachs and the bankers (who Obama says he hates) tons of money. Now this is a stock you would love to own after what happened to previous bond holders, right?  Meanwhile Ford with no stimulus 'rocks'."

Well, I knew J. D. well, him being my former employer and all. Joe B, Lou, and JJ would would make him proud. I hope they keep playing the game even though I know J. D. Could Have Made These Things Up---and then some.

Why Are the Enemies of the U.S. Obama's Friends?

I personally visited the Hubbard City Cafe on Sunday of this week and made a personal observation that it doesn't matter so much what you put under your gravy as long as you have good gravy. But I bet most of you folks already knew that.  On this particular day I had beef tips, rice, and mashed potatoes underneath.  Some gravy even oozed over on to my baked squash and green beans.  One thing was for sure.  It is all good if you have a piece of great corn bread in one hand at all times.  You know that corn bread that makes great golden colored muffins and has just enough sugar to sweeten it up just right.

Well, several of the coffee drinkers came by after lunch and are considering requesting stimulus money for bomb shelters based on the latest news.  Under intense questioning on my part Butch came forward, "Let me lay it out for you city folks.  On the very same day Obama leaves town for his 6th vacation of the year (which isn't nearly enough to protect the country), he announces that he forced Israel and the Palestinians into peace talks that will last for one year, and he officially reassures (for what that is worth) Israel that Iran is 'at least 12 months' from a nuclear bomb as Iran's leadership hailed the fuelling of its first nuclear power plant on Saturday."

"So Butch, what is this all about?"

"It is all about Obama, like most libs, wanting to pull out of the middle east where 70% of the world's oil reserves are located and could fall into the hands of the bad guys pretty easily without our presence.  The middle eastern power is clearly Iran.  They are mean and hate the Western World.  They can easily stop our Obama military  retreats from Iraq and Afghanistan by stirring up trouble in either or both countries.  So they let Obama know that they will behave somewhat and let him pull out if Obama will keep Israel from bombing them before they can get their nuclear weapons.  So Obama is attempting to tie Israel up in 'peace talks' and 'reassurances'."

"You know what Billy Roy says about Obama, he is one of those guys that you don't listen to what he says, but watch what he does, and most of that is behind your back and under the table."

"So, Butch, what is Billy Roy saying about all this talk about Obama being a Muslim?"

"Jim, you are really stretching me out here, it being a Sunday and all.  BM says 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'.  To put this in simple terms it is all about the game of  oppressors and the oppressed.  Those who want to play this game to gain power will team up so to speak.  The enemy or oppressor in this case is the mostly white capitalistic America.  The enemies of capitalistic America are somewhat friends, that being Marxists, Black Liberation Theologists who are so called Christians, and even Muslims.  They all hate White America.  So Obama, who thinks it is his calling is to save the world's oppressed from the oppressors, claims to be a Christian with outreaches to Marxists and Muslims.  Of course, BM says, we all know Obama really worships only Obama.  He will adopt any doctrine that will serve his cause."

"Butch, I'm not sure how simple that is but I am going to mull it over all the way back to Austin.  I just hope I don't get my friends mixed up with my enemies as I sort through it.  Meanwhile, how's that bomb shelter coming?"

Butch has got me thinking about it,

Jim
