Cafe Proud to be Looking to Reagan and the Old Dead White Guys

Remember when they asked Ronald Reagan how the government was going to solve a problem? His answer, "Government doesn't solve problems, government is the problem." Republicans need to tattoo this on their visible body parts because Obama will ask the new congressman over and over how they are going to solve the debt problem.

The election is over and now the folks at the Cafe, being the central headquarters of conservative thought in all of Hubbard City, have to focus on the big question, "Where do we go from here?" It's not like people like Billy Roy Mitchum haven't been thinking about that, "It is critical that we not lose sight of what we are fighting for in this country in the year 2010. There are code words that guys like Obama use to signal his intent. Words like 'progress'. He said today that he thought we could still make 'progress' despite the election. We can still move 'forward', and not go 'back'. These are code words for Progressive Socialists who have committed their lives to gaining power over, and for, an UNLIMITED federal government. Among their circles they worship the concept that in a changing and complex world a government must change and progress as well and should not be limited by the ideas and principles of old white dead guys like Madison, Washington, Adams, Franklyn, and Jefferson."

Butch backed BM with facts as usual, "In only two years Obama, Pelosi, and Reid have enlarged the federal bureaucracy dramatically. They clearly believe if you can't nationalize it yet, then at least regulate it. Progressives for years have moved the details of regulation and implementation of legislation from the legislators to a permanent class of government bureaucrats in agencies like the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and of course, Health and Human Services (HHS). These agencies call their laws 'rules'."

BM took the baton in a full sprint, "This will be the biggest challenge the new Congress will have to face upon their arrival in January.  The progressives  like to peddle the myth that President  Bush deregulated much of the U.S. economy. But this is just plain false. By every objectively measurable metric, the size and scope of the regulatory state grew significantly under Bush, we thought at the time. However, Obama's regulatory regime is currently rising at more than twice the rate that Bush's did. No wonder our nation's job creators can't help us escape near double digit unemployment.  Business is being crushed by regulations.  Big regulations mean big government means big regulations.  It is a death cycle for free capitalism."

Piling on with more facts and figures Butch re-entered the diatribe, "I just read where the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is set to issue new regulations on emissions for boilers used in facilities like oil refineries, paper mills, and shopping malls. The EPA claims their new regulations will only cost the economy $9.5 billion by 2013. But the American Chemistry Council says the cost will surpass $20 billion and kill 800,000 jobs. Who is right? We don't know. But what we do know is that if you total up all of the new regulations already passed by the Obama administration last year, using their own cost estimates, fiscal 2010 saw the largest increase in regulatory burdens placed on the U.S. economy in the nation's recorded regulatory history."

"And most jobs come from small businesses. According to a report released last month by the Small Business Administration, existing total regulatory costs already amount to about $1.75 trillion (with a T)annually. This 'hidden tax' on the economy is nearly twice as large as the sum of all individual income taxes collected last year. Adding to this burden, federal agencies issued 43 new rules during the fiscal year ending September 30, 2010. The total cost of these rules, each one individually calculated by the Obama administration itself, was $28 billion."

"And these guys are just getting started.  Obama claims to have saved us from the pirates on Wall Street while lowering health care costs when the truth is the Obama administration is planning to inflict a regulatory tsunami on the U.S. economy during their final two years in office. The 2,319 page financial regulation bill (that saves us from Wall Street) requires 243 new formal rule-makings by 11 different federal agencies. The 2,700 page Obamacare bill (that saves us from Insurance Companies) contains more than 1,000 instances where Congress instructed HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to regulate the health care industry".

"In the name of Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, and Franklyn this is what the tea party of 2010 is about.  Regulation is a boring and complex topic, but something that threatens us and our way of life even more than Legislation.  We have to dismantle these Czars and agencies and return government to the governed."

It is a clear warning from both Reagan and the Cafe that we the people must GET CONTROL OF GOVERNMENT: Specifically, Congress must immediately reestablish legislative accountability by posting complete legislation, ending earmarks, reviewing all unauthorized programs and respecting constitutional limits on government. Congress must check executive branch overreach with aggressive oversight and investigations, roll back recent government interventions like health care, stop unnecessary administrative regulations and sunset new ones, restrict bureaucrats’ rule making authority and override executive orders. This is a Big Job!

Think about it. Our brilliant founders nailed it. It is pretty simple.  We just need to go backwards to go forward.

Cafe Warning: Vote and Beware!!

Butch relates a lot with Albert Einstein and quotes him in a plentiful manner on occasion, "The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing." Butch has an old trick of following such a proclamation with a long silence in hopes that someone will ask him the relevance of such a big statement. Knowing full well by now Butch's routine, the cafe usually 'out-silences' Butch which they did on this particular morning. "So, I hope all you guys vote next week and get your friends, family, and loved ones to do the same."

Scott Riddle, local conservative activist and nephew of Tris Speaker, hall of fame baseballer from Hubbard City (probably the only one at least that we have found so far) decided he should intercept Butch before he went back to Einstein, "Jim Ainsworth is a writer of some local renown all over Texas and even beyond sent me an email quoting P. J. O'Rourke, a man of considerable conservative wisdom, and it reads: Perhaps you're having a tiny last minute qualm about voting Republican. Take heart. And take the House and the Senate. Some people are concerned about little things like Christine O'Donnell in New Hampshire announcing that she's not a witch. (I ask you, has Hillary Clinton ever cleared this up about herself?)

Simply put, Democrats hate our guts.

They don't just hate our Republican, conservative, libertarian, strict constructionist, family values guts. They hate everybody's guts. And they hate everybody who has any. Democrats hate men, women, blacks, whites, Hispanics, gays, straights, the rich, the poor, and the middle class.

Democrats hate Democrats most of all. Witness the policies that Democrats have inflicted on their core constituencies, resulting in vile schools, lawless slums, economic stagnation, and social immobility. Democrats will do anything to make sure that Democratic voters stay helpless and hopeless enough to vote for Democrats."

Billy Roy Mitchum, staying one step ahead at all times even as he recovers from new surgery on an old back, "This P.J. guy nailed it. I think we all need to vote Tuesday, and then beware. Obama will be blocked from legislative domestic attacks on the country in both the House and the Senate (not having 60 votes in the Senate). So what will he do? He is packing up 40 air planes as we speak to take wife, and even the little girls, to India. They have rented a 560 room hotel for their photo shoot."

"Whats the concern, BM?" asked Aunt Martha, always pressing the boys to stay relevant.

"Obama, blocked on the domestic front, will move to Foreign Affairs, and it will be easy to do. Remember, he always uses a CRISIS as an excuse to pass his Socialist agenda. The next two years he will have plenty of reasons to cry 'crisis'. All the bad guys around the world know they have only two years left with his timid and incompetent regime to cause havoc in the free world. Just this morning the North Koreans took some pot shots at the South Koreans."

Scott Riddle, in a pretty surly mood anyway what with the Rangers down two games to the girls in San Francisco (did you see that pitcher's hair in game one?),"You nailed this one, BM. It is much tougher for a Congress to rein in a President on foreign affairs. Obama will attempt to give away the American store to George Soros and his Socialist and Muslim friends. Halloween starts Sunday and will go at least another two years. Folks should beware!"

Sounds like Tuesday is just the start of the next American Revolution, which will be tougher than the last, with a guy sitting in George Washington's chair who is either incompetent, America's enemy, or both .

The Progressive Lapel Pin: One Big Old White Flag

Sweet Lou Tekell watches a lot of TV and is a world class channel flipper, particularly when something happens like Tony Romo getting his collar bone broken. Last night his flipping landed on Fox News, "They had this former Iranian Foreign Minister talking about our mid-term elections of all things. He said that these guys are going to put off their negotiations with Obama about Nuclear weapons until after the elections because they aren't going to agree to anything that the US wants, and they don't want to hurt the Democrats until after November 2. Combine these comments with the news that Iran is providing the President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, with literally sacks of cash money (like $2m every two months) for his personal slush fund, and the pentagon leaks of just how much Iran was sending weapons and fighters into Iraq and Afghanistan to kill American soldiers, and you wonder if someone like Obama has any chance of coping with this Ahmadinejad guy."

"I don't wonder, I know Obama can't handle Ahma(whoever)," erupted Butch Jackson, local master of world events and facts of little to no significance. "And when you think that Obama, in all his wisdom, has our people like Patreaus sitting down as we speak with the Taliban and Iranians in Afghanistan briefing them on our strategy in hopes that they will negotiate some agreement that lets Obama pull out of what he called 'the good war' makes you shiver, and I don't shiver very easy at all."

There was some period of silence as the folks pondered on the thought of Butch shivering followed by Billy Roy's entrance into the conversation, him still being at home and on his fancy speaker phone, "I am afraid shivering won't get it when it comes to Iran. If it would Obama would be in good shape. So far, Obama’s policy toward Iran has been to incrementally increase sanctions by building a weak coalition and allow the sanctions to create shifts in Iran’s domestic political situation. Of course everybody that knows anything knows this ain't no strategy at all. With my time off I have researched just what kind of foreign policy platforms these so called Progressives endorse behind the scenes. When you get through reading this and shivering, you'll be lucky not to pee in your pants:

• Declare an end to the Global War On Terror (GWOT)
• Repeal the Authorization to Use Military Force
• Withdraw all of our troops from foreign countries and bring them home immediately
• Close all military bases in foreign countries
• Reduce and limit the size of our armed forces to a level reasonably required to defend our homeland from attack
• Treat terrorism as a law enforcement problem and assign the primary responsibility for solving it to the FBI
• Repeal the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and the recently passed Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (2008)
• End all domestic spying and wiretapping unless it complies with the Fourth Amendment, the Title III Electronic Surveillance Act, and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (2000)
• Abolish the Central Intelligence agency
• Release all prisoners seized as part of the GWOT (Global War on Terror) who are not scheduled to be tried in federal court and release the ones who are acquitted
• Abolish the use of military tribunals
• Abolish the Department of Homeland Security

"So this is the list that Obama has in his pocket, and this is who we have negotiating with Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, N. Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, China, and not to mention negotiating Nuclear Arms treaties with the Russians. It looks to me like Obama does have a flag on his lapel, probably his pajamas only.  And it is a big old white one."

Maybe it is to scary to think about his too much unless you have a really strong bladder,

Surprising Praise for House Leader Pelosi from the Cafe???????

Butch Jackson came into the cafe this week with all barrels blazing and in a T-shirt that said 'Party Till You Puke', "Did anyone see that witch, Pelosi, this weekend?  She said that the Dems would retain the House, that the polls were split evenly on approval of ObamaCare, and then spewed that socialist s__t that the biggest problem in the nation is that we are not taking  from the rich and giving to the middle class fast enough. We are doing OK on salaries, but we need to give them more 'ownership and equity'.  She said it is all about fairness.  I don;t know how she can be so caring and sweet with that skin pulled so tight on her face."

"I guess that means we need more things like ObamaMotors.  They took GM and Chrysler away from shareholders and gave it to the UAW while keeping most of it for the Federal Government as they claimed to be saving the US auto industry.  Pelosi says stuff like that, and she is so rich she couldn't go broke if she tried.  Darned if she don't fly around on a big old jet with a bar bill that costs more than 4 to 5 middle class folks can make working hard."

Butch proceeded uninterrupted and without caution as is his usual style, "My gosh, this gave me a nightmare.  Right there in the middle of the night  I dreamed I was working for Pelosi and watching her 'communications chief', who was a 7th year sophomore from California Berzekely University of an undeterminal sexual persuasion. Seems this spinner followed up his/her bosses remarks by sending a survey to their foremost political enemy, that being the Hubbard City Cafe of course. The dream was like really real, and the survey and polling looked like this:

As a result of Speaker Pelosi's interviews this weekend would you say Ms. Pelosi is:
                                           Responses
1. Stupid                                   0
2. A Liar                                    0
3. All the Above                        10

"After getting the results the communications expert went to the 'antonym' dictionary (for those of you from Mr. Calm she was looking for opposites or upside down words) and found the following:

Antonyms for Stupid:         Astute, smart, clever

Antonyms for Liar:            Square shooter, straight shooter, straight arrow

"OK, having done her research this communication's specialist put out a press release about this survey:"

Surprising Praise for House Leader Pelosi

In her pursuit to stay in touch with all of her constituents, the historic first woman to be House Majority Leader, Nancy Pelosi, polled the radical conservative extremists at the Hubbard City Cafe. Results were surprising.  First the poll was unanimous in that all respondents gave the same feedback. Secondly, when given the opportunity to describe her leadership traits in very negative terms, no one in this extreme group selected descriptions that would conflict with the pollster's views of her being  a smart and clever straight shooter.

Objective political analysts across the nation interpreted this as admiration from her political foes for Speaker Pelosi's historic achievements while serving as the first woman House Majority Leader and the 2nd in line, behind the VP, to the most significant political position in the world. Ms. Pelosi when presented with the polling results said 'she would continue to serve all of the American people and only wished  Hubbard City had a landing strip large enough for here to visit and thank the folks for their support..  Speaker Pelosi also voiced,' her sincere hope that this support from the Cafe would lead to a healing of all political wounds and a return to civility and bi-partisanship in Washington as she and President Obama prayed for on a regular basis'.

Billy Roy being the only one left listening about Butch's dream since he was on one of those fancy speaker phones recovering from back surgery from climbing up on too many stages to sing those sad Merl Haggard songs broke in, "Butch, I'm still here cause I don't have anyplace to go. Can we do a wrap here?"

"Sure, BM. My wrap was I waked up hearing myself screaming and then turned right there into a spittin mad man. That Pelosi drives me crazy.  Anybody that would believe her and vote Democrat has their head so firmly planted up their rear ends that it is unlikely that they would ever have another point of view.  BM......BM, are you still there? Well I guess I'll pick up the check today since everyone seemed to leave kinda early."

Seems like the lonely people like Butch and Nancy P. are having to stick together these days, even if it is in their dreams. And Nancy P. is not even going to have Butch on November 2.

Where's The Love?

In six man football they have a "hog law rule" which says when one team gets ahead by 45 points the game is called. In eleven man football no civility exists as evidenced by Bremond's gluttonous tromping of the Hubbard Jaguars by 56-0 on Friday night of this very week. This writer asks, "Where is the love?"

With Bremond this uncalled for hostility evidently goes all the way back to 1957 when this writer was a 150 lb. sophomore quarterback for the Central Texas number 1 ranked Hubbard Jaguars. Bremond's Tigers were ranked number 2, and since both teams had open dates on the same Friday night, school officials wisely decided (must have been Democrats) on a Wednesday to schedule a game in Bremond (of all places). It just so happens that three of us had taken off to attend the Future Farmers of America convention in Kansas City, Kansas on this "open" week. We arrived riding in the back of a pickup truck in Hubbard on Friday afternoon just in time to catch the bus to Bremond (a trip of about 50 miles no less).

In the first quarter this sophomore QB got lucky on a quarterback option and went 60 yards for the first score of the game. My celebration ended abruptly when as I arrived back on the field as a defensive safety to see and hear the entire Bremond team (made up of 11 gigantic Bohemians), pointing at me and in unison yelling, "Kill number 13". Again I ask, "Where's the love?" Needless to say the next time we ran a quarterback option I chose to pitch the ball back to our real running back and went back to my cerebral quarterback duties. All of this on the way to a 14-19 loss of our number 1 ranking. This series of events turned me away from a professional football career as well as ending any desire I had to become a future farmer. I committed, and semi-dedicated, my life after this to "finding the love"!

So where is the love? Let's take a process of elimination approach by looking at places where folks are receiving NO love:

The View (ask Bill O'Reilly if you don't believe me)

Small Business Owners who make more than $200k

Target Stores who donate money to business friendly politicians

Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico citizens who want the US Government to either enforce immigration and drug smuggling laws or get out of the way

Insurance Companies who stand in the way of government run Obamacare

Auto Company investors and dealers who got in the way of Obamamotors

Doctors who went into their profession to help people and make money

Tax payers who aren't sharing enough with non-taxpayers

People who work who aren't sharing enough with people who don't work

People who think jobs are created by private sector employers

Young mothers who give birth to children without husbands

Polluters who drive cars, manufacture goods, till soil, and breathe

School boards who want to compensate good teachers and fire bad ones

People who want to thank God and ask for His help in Public

People who think it is wrong to destroy a baby in a mother's womb while not caring as much if you destroy an Eagle's egg (against the law)

Military leaders who think they should decide who they need in the military to win wars and how to wage those wars

People who think marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman of all things

People who think politicians should be elected for no more than two terms and impeached if they perjure themselves to to their voters

People who think the USA was founded on Judeo/Christian first principles

People who think our founders meant it when they said "All men and women are created equal and are endowed by God with certain unalienable (unchangeable) rights among these Life, Liberty (balance between freedom and responsibility), and the pursuit (an effort to attain) Happiness (good fortune and contentment)"

This list just seems way too long. Some of these folks should be getting some love. Guess we don't have much love left except for losing six man football teams.

The Miners In Chile Didn't Need The ACLU

Aunt Martha reported the turnout for coffee at the Cafe was fairly light today what with Obama appearing on every one's favorite channel, that being MTV.

Butch says, "Dennis Miller says the Pres is running out of audiences he can pen up and get to listen to him. In fact Miller says the miners in Chile came up early to avoid Obama who was threatening to go down and hold one of his town hall meetings in the caved in shaft."

Scottie Anderson, father of the offensive co-ordinator of the Mississippi Southern University football team and local song leader at the number 1 Baptist Church in Hubbard, took over the discussion from here, "The ACLU and other Lib Elites had a bad day yesterday. An evil American company, Center Rock Inc., took it on themselves when they heard the miners would not be reached until Christmas, at the earliest, to take their drilling technology to Chile. They started with a 5 inch hole that ran down to the distressed miners and within 33 days had increased the hole to 28 inches enabling them to have the miners out in 69 days instead of the 150 days fore casted. This certainly saved some lives, and maybe all 33 of the miners."

"And wow, would we like to have Chile's President, Sebastian Pinera. He is the real thing. A seemingly honest, hands-on, positive, Christian leader. No junk about separating God and State here. He asked for God's help, and thanked God in his first act once the miners were freed. President Pinera really seems like he is a man of the people. He praised the life, health, integrity, and dignity of Chile's workers.  Sounds like that old fashioned stuff that our founding fathers called 'natural rights granted by our creator'."

"Did you hear the first things the miners asked to be sent to them down in the mine were toothpaste and Bibles. One miner named Sepulva, said 'I have been with God and with the devil. I was given a choice. I seized the hand of God, it was the best hand. I always knew God would get us out of there'."

"Survivor experts say when people are faced with the issue of 'am I going to live through this, or is this the end?' the single strongest determining factor is their belief in God. The US Navy did an exhaustive study that resulted in Faith in God as clearly the most important factor in surviving life threatening situations."

About this time Scottie was interrupted by the strong voice of Billy Roy blaring over the speaker phone, "Maybe folks will wake up and even start talking to God in other places where we need some help.  Places like schools, congress, and even football games."

Since Hubbard folks aren't talking about football games this year that pretty much broke the coffee meeting up, right there.

God, please help only those of us who need it,

Mr. Obama: Disclose This!!

"Did you folks see that Billy Mack Waller (who runs the Country Kitchen across from the Cafe), got so fired up about Jim's blog on religious liberty that he put up a new sign? It says 'In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash', " these opening remarks from Joe Borger Heard kept the folks from having to talk about Hubbard's homecoming loss which took the place of their first win of the season, again.

"Meanwhile, our President says he is working day and night to create jobs for the American people. Seems to me that employers create jobs by running successful operations. The better the company does, the more jobs the company creates, and the better employees do. So why isn't Obama helping businesses? Just seems that simple, and yet this Harvard and Columbia graduate (maybe he did or maybe he didn't) just doesn't seem to grasp this first principle of Capitalism. He constantly shows his unbecoming hatred for employers, that is all employers except those government and union employers."

Well Butch Jackson, almost fully recovered from some major surgery is beginning to feel his oats again, "With last week culminating in an increase in unemployment, this poor excuse for a President, Barack Obama, told a crowd in Philadelphia this weekend that;'special interest groups' like the Chamber of Commerce are 'spending unlimited amounts of money on attack ads.' The President continued: 'It could be the oil industry. It could be the insurance industry. It could even be foreign-owned corporations. You don’t know because they don’t have to disclose. ... Now, that’s not just a threat to Democrats - that’s a threat to our democracy'. Obviously this is a sleazy attempt to attempt to silence debate as the President faces a huge defeat in mid-term elections."

"Obama will be pushing what he calls 'The Disclose Act' that would exempt labor unions and other Obama interest groups while trying to silence the voices of free enterprise before his 2012 election. On Face the Nation this Sunday, even CBS host Bob Schieffer confronted White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod about a New York Times article showing that White House charges of 'secret foreign money' 'stealing our democracy' were completely baseless. Schieffer asked: 'Is this the only charge, three weeks into the election that the Democrats can make that somehow this may or may not be foreign money coming into the campaign?' He then asked Axelrod 'can you prove it?' To which Axlerod answered 'can you prove they aren't?' Shieffer, who usually carries water for the Libs answered, 'Is that the best you can do'? Seems even Obama supporters are beginning to recognize sleaze when it is rubbed all over them."

"He constantly demonizes American companies while passing every red tape regulation you can imagine to bog businesses down while increasing taxes and government mandates like health care. Hell, he still has a freeze on drilling for oil in the Gulf that applies to everyone but China, Cuba, and Mexico."

Billy Roy Mitchum could hold back no longer having just read a copy of the Tyler Courier Times that a friend provided free of any charges since BM is fully recovering from back surgery and was calling in on one of those fancy speaker phones, "Meanwhile, let me tell you about one of these evil American companies just up the road east of here in Tyler, Texas. For the past two years Brookshires Grocery Company has chartered a private plane and flown World War II Veterans to Washington, D.C. They call it their 'Heroes Flight'."

"This year 37 veterans participated, all free of charge. The company provides everything for the trip with 25 escorts including nurses to accompany those who require special care."

"The veterans are sent off from Dallas after a fire hose salute on the runway. Crowds enthusiastically applaud as they board in Dallas and they deplane in Washington. Senator John Cornyn of Texas hosts our heroes as they tour the Senate, World War II Memorial, and Military Cemeteries. Every veteran's story dwarfs anything most of us will ever do in our lifetimes. Talking about that time in their lives is still difficult for most, but they are more comfortable sharing these stories among themselves. You know how that it."

"Thank goodness several were recorded like Basil Dollins, 86, of Gladewater, still struggles with the memory of 19 dead crewmen laid out on the deck of the USS Pensacola, hit eight times by shore batteries while covering the Marine landing at Okinawa. 'Hundreds more were wounded,' he said, 'but I remember those 19'."

"J.W. Gresham, 90, of Tyler, was a private in the U.S. Army and was captured during the Battle of the Bulge. He recalls the sheer terror of being locked in a German boxcar with 60 other POWs as British planes bombed the rail yard. Gresham would remain a POW for 139 days."

"Hank Pendergrass, 86, of Tyler, saw combat as a tech sergeant with the 27th Infantry on Okinawa. 'We went in with 160 men, and only 60 came out,' he said. 'We added 30 men as replacements and went in a second time … again, only 60 came out'.

American companies like Brookshires are rarely recognized for truly patriotic acts unless someone like BM speaks up. They should not be demonized by anyone, and much less someone like Barrack Obama who has never done one constructive discoverable thing. These companies not only have a right, but an obligation, to voice their opinions.

Our veterans continue to make huge sacrifices for our liberties. They deserve our thanks, respect, and give more than we can ever repay.

And our children and grandchildren deserve better than to have their futures wrecked by Obama, Axelrod, and cronies.

November 12,

Jim
