Obama got up this morning and looked at his sticky notes from Valerie Jarret:
1. DON'T SCREW UP, AND LOOK GOOD FOR YOUR 2012 VOTERS (PRIMARY)
2. Make statement about protests around the world. (secondary)
3. STAY OUT OF MY WAY. (MOST PRIMARY)
He then made his press release, "I condemn violence against peaceful protesters no matter where it occurs." This press release was somewhat drowned out by the detailed reports of how a CBS female news reporter was sexually molested in the street by 200 of the peaceful protesters as they 'celebrated' their successful peaceful overthrow of 30 year American ally, President Mubarak. The CBS reporter was rescued by women and soldiers after a 30 minute assault.
Meanwhile when his new press secretary was asked if Obama agreed with the leaders of Germany, United Kingdom, and France that multi-culturalism in their countries had bred Radical Muslim activities, the press secretary said, "I am not aware of these statements."
On this particular day the press was obsessed with the demonstrations in the streets of Madison, Wisconsin where school teachers set an example for our children by lying that they were sick and staying home closing the schools. Their Democratic Wisconsin legislators supported their efforts by leaving the state so the democratic process could not move forward. Why? Because the new governor was elected to fix a $2 plus billion budget shortfall.
Teachers in Milwaukee make $60,000 a year and get another $40,000 a year in pension and medical benefits. Not bad even though they do have to work a full 9 months. This crazy new governor wants to pass legislation that the teachers have to pay 5.8% of their income toward their pensions and 12.8% toward their health insurance.
So our overworked President had to make another press statement. He said, "I believe this looks like an assault on labor unions. We need to understand public employees are our neighbors. They are our friends." Skinny didn't comment on civility. Maybe the 'death to the tyrant' sign displayed by union thugs or the pictures of the governor portrayed as Adolph Hitler didn't register on Obama's civility meter or maybe these signs aren't shown on Obama's golf channel.
Taxpayers need to understand that while the American private workforce has dramatically opted out of unions to the point that only 7% pay union dues. On the other hand, about 33% of 'public servants' (these neighbors of ours) are union members. As our bankrupt local and state governments have proven unions love to negotiate with politicians who tend to make very attractive concessions in return for political contributions and votes leaving taxpayers with the economic destruction that comes later.
Next to Obama, Carter, and LBJ, Franklyn D. Roosevelt was about as Liberal as one can get. And yet even FDR knew better than to allow 'public servants' to join unions. "Meticulous attention," the president insisted in 1937,"'should be paid to the special relations and obligations of public servants to the public itself and to the Government….The process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service." The reason? F.D.R. believed that "[a] strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to obstruct the operations of government until their demands are satisfied. Such action looking toward the paralysis of government by those who have sworn to support it is unthinkable and intolerable." [from CCNY Professor Daniel DiSalvo]
Think about our firemen, policemen, and teachers, who are paid 100% by taxpayers, striking to obstruct the operations of government because their union thugs are trying to intimidate politicians and citizens to gain concessions. As many states that ban collective bargaining for public employees realize, this is beyond insane.
If collective bargaining is allowed with public employees they will ban with others that are on the government dole in destroying the American Way. This Republic was not designed to work if the number of citizens that receive their income from the government exceeds the number of citizens that pay taxes. I repeat, this form of government can not work if the number of citizens that receive their incomes from the government exceed the number that pay for the government. Wouldn't it be just great if private workers could vote for politicians that raise their taxes and then have union thugs negotiate higher salaries and benefits to make up for the increased taxes they are paying? Public employees pay their taxes with money they receive from taxpayers. Got it? That is exactly what the employees of the State of Wisconsin have today. Some kind of friends and neighbors, huh?
If nothing else, let's take the teacher's union dues that are split between the thugs and politicians and spend it on our school children, huh?
Just to end the week on a down note, Dick Morris is passing along rumors that our crack Republican Senators are "compromising" with their Democratic friends to raise taxes. Here is Dick's comment: "A bi-partisan Senate working group which includes Republican Senators Tom Coburn (Oklahoma), Mike Crapo (Idaho), and Saxby Chambliss (Georgia) is considering back door, automatically triggered tax increases as a way to bring down the budget deficit." Any compromise with Obama at this point puts him back in the White House in 2012 just like the Republicans did in Bush's second term. Voters hated both parties. Remember?
Suck it up, cut spending, no tax increases----PERIOD.

Too Much Analysis Can Be Bad For Butch's Head
Butch can't seem to leave the 'social security thing' alone. He says it is typical of a good old fashioned hoodwinking of the American people. "As much as folks don't want to get dirty, sometimes you just got to look under the hood. When they invented this Social Security scam they had an idea of creating more revenue for the politicians to buy votes and gain power. They sold the folks that every working citizen should have a safety net. So a worker would pay into a fund and at the age of 65 the tax payer could receive retirement income until their death. Shouldn't every hard working taxpayer have a safety net? This little tax, when added to the medicare tax, now represents over 40% of the government's revenues. These payroll taxes are as large as the biggest source which is Individual Income Taxes. Since the life expectancy of a man was 60 years old, and a woman was 64, at the time Social Security was sold to the public there was so much money in the Social Security Fund that the politicians could use the money for other purposes. As we have said before 'they made-off with it' in a good old fashioned Ponzi scheme. Now the life expectancy of men is 75 years of age, and of women, a whopping 80. Not good news for the politicians. They never expected to really have to pay the money back to taxpayers. And here we are calling Social Security the third rail of American politics that no smart politician would touch. And for years no one has, Obama included in his receipt piece of crap that he called a budget. Add to this little life expectancy problem the fact that baby boomers are retiring faster than taxpayers are entering the work force (and those who do can't find jobs in an Obama economy) and projections are that the payout of social security benefits will increase by over 50% in the next 20 years. And of course this is money that we don't have."

My head's exploding. Does anyone know what Obama is talking about? He also says he is right on schedule to meet his campaign pledge to cut the deficit in half in his first term in office. I will give away a spanking new Billy Roy Mitchum autographed Farmall hat to anyone that can explain that one."

TV Terrorism: Egyptian Style
Terrorist acts today are TV events. Have you noticed? To make major political gains activists at one time had to make war. Folks like George Washington, Castro, Mao, and Stalin. It took resources and posed great risks to the activists. Now because of TV you just need acts of terror or intimidation. 911 was the granddaddy of them all. A handful of horrible people staged a TV event using a handful of deranged and brainwashed poeple and a minimum amount of cash and resources (mostly stolen).
Who would of thought it? Only two short weeks ago Egypt was ruled by an 82 year old, very ill man, who wanted his son to replace him in a position that VP Biden assured us was not a dictator. For some odd reason this guy was paranoid. After all he was only wounded when the Muslim Brotherhood killed Sadat. And OK, there were 7 additional attempts to assassinate him. Of course the Military who runs Egypt had no intention of letting the young Mubarak replace his Dad. And then what is being called no less than a miracle by the press happened. A 'leaderless' revolt of peaceful demonstrators who only set fires and threw firebombs and rocks demonstrated for TV cameras while facebooking and tweeting each other to cause this miracle revolution. The 82 year old was forced to step down now instead of on the scheduled departure date of September. Details of the miraculous event are compared below:

At a certain point, the opposition’s euphoria will subside and demands for elections will be voiced. Whether the military stays true to its commitment to hold elections on schedule in September remains to be seen. If elections are held, however, the military must have a political vehicle in place to counter opposition forces, particularly the Muslim Brotherhood. Sustaining its hold on power while crafting a democratic government will be the biggest challenge for the military as it tries to avoid regime change while also dealing with a potential constitutional crisis.
What have we learned? In this day of TV Terrorism a non-event, with no leaders and no cause, can stand in the street and lead a non-movement to replace oppression with the status quo. This thing was so disorganized and confusing that Obama and his regime couldn't determine how to join the 'wrong side' because there didn't appear to be any sides. My gosh they tried though. You have to give them credit. Biden said Mubarak wasn't a dictator. Obama's top security chief, Clapper, said the MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD wasn't a religious organization but 'secular'. Obama made daily announcements that only proved how irrelevant he is, and has made the US, to International Events. Does anyone have any idea what Obama said in any of his press releases? Do any world leaders care?
The potentially positive result is that there is an opportunity to turn this new TV Terrorism movement against real thugs like Iran, Syria, Palestine, Gaza, Libya, Cuba, Venezuela, and even China. If only we had a shred of competence in the White House and the CIA. If only our leaders had anything on their minds except the 2012 elections?
The potentially negative result is that the TV Terrorism might be co-opted by a combine made up of Muslims and Socialists targeting nations such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq under the banner of 'democracy'. Their ideas of democracy are one man, one vote, one time before the facists takeover as they did in Iran.
What will happen when we have our first post-revolution face off between Socialists and Muslims. Right now we would get even money on a bet as to which side Obama would support. It might be his best straddle yet.
On the other hand, how effective would a leader like Ronald Reagan be in today's world with people screaming for democratic values of liberty and freedom based on rights granted by our Creator? A leader who believed in the rule of law and gaining the consent of the governed? A leader who wanted government to get out of people's way? On the other hand why would these same people respond to a regime that violated their own Constitution in trying to enble the government to gain more control over their people's lives (talking healthcare, autos, and energy)? I just heard a Muslim cleric ask Hannity a good question, "Who do you trust to make your laws Allah or Obama?" The answer should be our rights come from our Creator and are protected by laws----not Obama. And unlike an Allah dominated theocracy, all people are guaranteed the same rights to worship as they please.

Who Is the President????
Scotty Anderson is a pretty cool guy and is somewhat laid back in most things he does. If you remember Scotty is the one who I was having coffee with, some months ago, when he looked at his watch and said slowly, “I have an appointment in one minute. I can make it if I don’t catch the light.” This based on the fact his Insurance Office is four blocks from the Hubbard City Café, two on the café side of the one and only three-way stop light in Hubbard, and two on the main street side of the light.
Well this morning Scotty was not so much under control, “I have had it with Washington. They all drive me crazy. Typical politics, Planned Parenthood is helping Pimps get girls as young as 13 abortions using the Pimps as falsified guardians. Everything about this is illegal. These people, and I am talking about the Pimps and the people at Planned Parenthood, should be locked up for a long, long time. They are trafficking, and aiding and abetting the trafficking, of child rape and prostitution not to mention the illegal drugs, kidnapping, illegal immigration, and other unlawful and despicable things that go along with this insanity. And what will our politicians do? They will argue about whether Planned Parenthood should continue to get $360,000,000 (that’s with an M) each year of our taxpayer money. Prediction: the Democratic Senate and White House will win the arguments, keep funding these creeps, and a small number of ‘Planners’ get fired and go on Obama's unemployment and insurance programs for the rest of their lives.”
Butch was the only one who would break this silence, “And this outfit claims their purpose in life is to help our young women plan for their families and parenthood. Truth is these are mostly abortion factories. No gift from God is anymore special than a child. I just hate to see them treated as inconveniences.”

Some say a Muslim, others a Socialist, many a narcissist and clinical at that, most call him a Liberal or Progressive, others think he a Moderate or moving to the middle, now some even say he is Reagan-like or Kennedy-like or Carter-like, some feel he is a devout ideologue, he comes from Kenya or Somalia or Hawaii, while many say he is just a slick politician who will say and lie about anything. Just seems to me that we should know who our President is by now.”
Billy Roy rode in on a big old white horse, “My inside sources say our current President was born in Shiraz, Iran to American parents. The father, a pathologist and geneticist, ran a hospital for children in Shiraz, as part of a program where American doctors and agricultural experts sought to help jump-start developing countries' health and farming efforts. When the President was five, the family moved to London for one year, returning to Chicago in 1963. As a child the President spoke Persian and French and was friendly with people like Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright. The President started in Chicago politics in 1987 working for Black Mayor Washington as Deputy Corporation Counsel for Finance and Development.
The current President continued to work in the mayor's office in the 1990s. As Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Richard Daley during which time (1991) the President hired Michelle Robinson, then engaged to Barack Obama, away from a private law firm. You see the President today is Valery Jarrett. Obama has been told very clearly to spend his next two years in office ‘looking good’ and ‘not getting into trouble’. If you saw the pre-Super Bowl interview with O'Reilly you have verification. He didn't truthfully answer one question while trying to come across as a 'regular guy'. Jarrett will run the President’s business with the primary goal that each have of getting Obama re-elected.
Jarrett is now the President's top Advisor with both Axelrod and Rahm back in Chicago. She holds the re-titled position of Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement, managing the White House Office of Public Engagement, Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, and Office of Urban Affairs. And now she, a radical leftist amateur, runs the Free World.
My sources say even people loyal to this regime are scared to death of the consequences. They just don't know how much longer they can fake it for this incompetent.”

From Now On It's All About Obama's Second Term
Scott Riddle opened discourse at the Cafe with a summary of Obama's Speech in Cairo last year, "Let me net some of his key points:
1. Colonialism and treating Muslim countries as proxies over the years had caused strife between the Muslim and non-Muslim worlds
2. The US should not have invaded Iraq and he will pull out
3. He will stop the US practice of torturing people and close GITMO
4. The US played a role during the Cold War in overthrowing a democratically elected government in Iran
5. Islam has a proud tradition of religious freedom
6. The US will have friendly relations with any country whose government is elected democratically (basically implying an overthrow of the Egyptian government)
7. He called for Israel to stop building its settlements in occupied territory
8. He profusely quoted the Koran at every turn and bragged of living in three different Muslim nations.
And now is there any wonder Egypt could possibly fall into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood? When Hillary was asked this week-end if she was afraid the Brotherhood could fill a void in leadership, she avoided an answer by saying we didn't want a void. We wanted a peaceful migration of leadership. The Obama administration refuses to oppose Radical Islamists even though their takeover of Egypt will not just cause chaos in the middle east but all around the world."
Butch Jackson intercepted the conversation at the Cafe, as he is apt to do and particularly on slow days when there aren't Friday night football games, "To quote a famous American, Forrest Gump, stupid is as stupid does. How stupid can we be? First we put this current guy in the White House. Can you imagine you are Mubarak, who ran the Egyptian Air Force before Sadat was assassinated, and then was the President of Egypt for 30 long years in which he fought off Jihadists. His tenure included no fewer than 7 attempts to assassinate him. Months after Obama gives his speech to college students in Egypt, then when he has what Obama calls 'peaceful street demonstrations', he gets a call form Skinny. After the call the American President attends his propaganda chief, David Axlerod's going away party. Axelrod is leaving to go back to Chicago to avoid scrutiny as he organizes the likes of ACORN for the 2012 election. Back to poor Mubarak, Skinny wants to lecture him about how to rule a country whose last opinion poll said 70% of the people want a radical Muslim government. Obama lectures him on 'listening to the folks and how leaders rule by the consent of the people'. This is from the guy who stuffed Health Care up the rears of the folks completely against our wishes. I will bet Mubarak would rather fight off 10,000,000 terrorists than have a 15 minute telephone conversation with a hypocrite like Skinny."

He will then tell the folks how the mean Republicans are trying to cut expenses on the backs of the poor, old, young, sick, and crippled as they protect their 'fat cats and billionaires'. Meanwhile these investments in innovation, education, clean energy, and infrastructure will make Obama's backers billions and fill Obama's pockets with campaign money now, and personal graft once he is out of office just like Clinton. These guys also shovel money to the Chinese in trade agreements like Clinton did and my guess is the payback to those with the shovels is huge once they leave office."
"Lastly, Obama will buy votes everywhere possible. All the way from pushing Gay Marriage to claiming to be the saviour of the middle class as they war against the fat cats.. He has already turned unemployment compensation into basically a welfare program. Remember when Clinton reformed welfare to get re-elected. Well those days are over. Why work?"
Actually Mom summed it up, "Does anyone, not on the take from Obama, really think the country and free world could survive a second term of his corruption and incompetency?"

Months after Obama gives his speech to college students in Egypt, then when he has what Obama calls 'peaceful street demonstrations', he gets a call form Skinny. After the call the American President attends his propaganda chief, David Axlerod's going away party. Axelrod is leaving to go back to Chicago to avoid scrutiny as he organizes the likes of ACORN for the 2012 election. Back to poor Mubarak, Skinny wants to lecture him about how to rule a country whose last opinion poll said 70% of the people want a radical Muslim government. Obama lectures him on 'listening to the folks and how leaders rule by the consent of the people'. This is from the guy who stuffed Health Care up the rears of the folks completely against our wishes. I will bet Mubarak would rather fight off 10,000,000 terrorists than have a 15 minute telephone conversation with a hypocrite like Skinny."

Obama Fiddles as the Middle East Burns
Of all things, Butch Jackson came into the Cafe this week raving about an funny little Northern African country, "Tunisia overthrew their government in January and were rarely even mentioned in our press, and when mentioned, the press said the government's leader stepped down because of 'street protest'. Obama made a positive statement about Tunisia in his state of the union speech. So what is the history that led up to the present situation in Tunisia that Obama praises? I took this information from the BBC:
'French colonial rule ended in 1956, and Tunisia was led for three decades by Habib Bourguiba, who advanced secular ideas. These included emancipation for women - women's rights in Tunisia are among the most advanced in the Arab world - the abolition of polygamy and compulsory free education. The diverse economy has grown steadily and the slum population has halved. Mr Bourguiba insisted on an anti-Islamic fundamentalist line, while increasing his own powers to become a virtual dictator.
In 1987 he was dismissed on grounds of senility and Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali' became president. He continued with a hard line against Islamic extremists, but inherited an economically-stable country.
Although Tunisia has introduced some press freedoms and has freed a number of political prisoners, human rights groups say the authorities tolerate no dissent, harassing government critics and rights activists. Political violence was rare until recently, but militant Islamists have become an issue of concern for the authorities. A suicide bomb attack on an historic synagogue in the resort of Djerba in 2002 killed 21 people and led to a dramatic drop in tourist numbers.
Violent repression of protests over unemployment and lack of political freedom in the winter of 2010-2011 left dozens of people dead. But popular street protests continued and President Ben Ali went into exile in January 2011'."

"Because history repeats itself. While we were focused on Jimmy Carter's incompetence in screwing up the American economy we found out later that our foreign policy was even more screwed up. Carter never met an enemy of the free world that he didn't like. While Obama has us focused on deficits, socialism, and even gays in the military (all serious issues) while his Radical Muslim friends are taking over the Middle East."

"While Obama and Clinton just give mushy statements about democracy and violence trying to play both sides, the Radical Muslim's seem to be making huge gains as they take advantage of Obama's weakness and incompetence. Any sane person knows that the conflicts in the Middle East come down to the Radical Muslim Brotherhood and their comrades like al-Queda and the Taliban against more secular and less radical Muslims who, in all cases except Afghanistan and Iraq, are headed up by dictators or royal families.
Let's go through several situations:
Hezbollah is taking over the Lebanon government. Hezbollah is on the U.S. terrorists list. Obama never mentioned this in his State of the Union message. Hezbollah's prime interest is the destruction of Israel and all other 'infidels'.
In Egypt the Muslim Brotherhood is rioting against the current secular (that means non-radical-Muslim) government and the military, who have been U.S. allies. Obama's idiot press secretary Gibbs, of all things, called this morning for the Egyptian Government to restore the use of Twitter and Social Networking. Meanwhile, what Obama calls peaceful demonstrators, have set the Egyptian President's headquarters on fire. Today commentators are attacking Obama for supporting Radical Street Muslims and at the same time for supporting the present government. Bottom line, no one knows what Obama is doing. Bottom line, we know with Obama in office the radical Muslims have the upper hand in the Middle East.
Afghanistan is an active war in which our clear enemy is the Taliban who George Bush ran out of office because they were providing sanctuaries for al-Queda, who then fled to Pakistan and Yemen. Obama wants to pull out at all costs and hopes to negotiate a compromise with the Taliban.
Iran sits with a huge army on the border of Iraq just waiting for the Obama pull out there. Meanwhile Iran is developing nuclear weapons. The free world has no idea whether Obama will prevent a nuclear Iran. Nor whether he will even allow Israel to stop Iran.
Islamist radicals are taking major steps to control the 80% of the world's oil supply in the middle east. Meanwhile Obama wants to spend money, we don't have, to ramp up our solar and wind sources which currently supply less than one per cent of our needs. He also has done everything he can to hinder our development of coal, oil, and nuclear energy. No sane person can explain these actions and inactions."

Why Has Our President Intentionally Chosen to "Court the Disaster" of the Free World?
America's President just lauded Communist Red China's investments in technology and their superior education system while holding up Communist Russia's successes with Sputnik (even though he has basically defunded NASA) during his State of the Union "massage" of his Socialist followers. What he didn't talk about was this week's bombing of a Russian airport by Muslims nor the Hezbollah takeover of Lebanon nor the radical Muslim's attempt to overthrow our US friendly Egyptian allies. On constant is his solutions don’t change. Just tell bigger lies and continue to overload key American systems until they collapse (economy, health care, transportation, energy, real estate, banking, immigration, military, etc.). Lies? In 2010 Obama called for a 3 year freeze of spending and then increased spending by 20%. And to top it off, he and Pelosi/Reid never even submitted a budget. This year he doubled up on the big lie by calling for a 5 year freeze. And of course he made the big move to the center by saying he would "talk" about medical malpractice.
Meanwhile a new book, "Courting Disaster", How the CIA Kept America Safe (Regnery), has been recently published. The author is President George W. Bush's top speechwriter, Marc Thiessen, who was provided unique access to the CIA program used in interrogating top Al Qaeda terrorists, including the mastermind of the 9/11 attack, Khalid Sheikh Mohammad (KSM).
The book covers in great detail how on March 1, 2003, two dozen heavily armed Pakistani tactical assault forces move in and surround a safe house in Rawalpindi . A few hours earlier they had received a text message from an informant inside the house. It read: "I am with KSM."
Bursting in, they find the disheveled mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, in his bedroom. He is taken into custody. In the safe house, they find a treasure trove of computers, documents, cell phones and other valuable "pocket litter."
And now pay close attention because this part of the story is what is so relevant to our safety and the free world's future. Once in custody, KSM is defiant. He refuses to answer questions, informing his captors that he will tell them everything when he gets to America and sees his lawyer. But KSM is not taken to America to see a lawyer Instead he is taken to a secret CIA "black site" in an undisclosed location.
Upon arrival, KSM finds himself in the complete control of Americans. He does not know where he is, how long he will be there, or what his fate will be.
Despite his circumstances, KSM still refuses to talk. He spews contempt at his interrogators, telling them Americans are weak, lack resilience, and are unable to do what is necessary to prevent the terrorists from succeeding in their goals. He has trained to resist interrogation. When he is asked for information about future attacks, he tells his questioners scornfully: "Soon, you will know."
It becomes clear he will not reveal the information using traditional interrogation techniques. So he undergoes a series of "enhanced interrogation techniques" approved for use only on the most high-value detainees. The techniques include waterboarding.
His resistance is described by one senior American official as "superhuman." Eventually, however, the techniques work, and KSM becomes cooperative.
He begins telling his CIA de-briefers about active al Qaeda plots to launch attacks against the United States and other Western targets. He holds classes for CIA officials, using a chalkboard to draw a picture of al Qaeda's operating structure, financing, communications, and logistics. He identifies al Qaeda travel routes and safe havens, and helps intelligence officers make sense of documents and computer records seized in terrorist raids. He identifies voices in intercepted telephone calls, and helps officials understand the meaning of coded terrorist communications. He provides information that helps our intelligence community capture other high-ranking terrorists, KSM's questioning, and that of other captured terrorists, produces more than 6,000 intelligence reports, which are shared across the intelligence community, as well as with our allies across the world.
In one of these reports, KSM describes in detail the revisions he made to his failed 1994-1995 plan known as the "Bojinka plot" to blow up a dozen airplanes carrying some 4,000 passengers over the Pacific Ocean.
Years later, an observant CIA officer notices the activities of a cell being followed by British authorities appear to match KSM's description of his plans for a Bojinka-style attack.
In an operation that involves unprecedented intelligence cooperation between our countries, British officials proceed to unravel the plot. On the night of Aug.9, 2006 they launch a series of raids in a northeast London suburb that lead to the arrest of two dozen al Qaeda terrorist suspects. They find a USB thumb-drive in the pocket of one of the men with security details for Heathrow airport, and information on seven trans-Atlantic flights that were scheduled to take off within hours of each other. They seize bomb-making equipment and hydrogen peroxide to make liquid explosives. And they find the chilling martyrdom videos the suicide bombers had prepared.
In addition to helping break up these specific terrorist cells and plots, CIA questioning provided our intelligence community with an unparalleled body of information about al Qaeda Until the program was temporarily suspended in 2006, intelligence officials say, well over half of the information our government had about al Qaeda-how it operates, how it moves money, how it communicates, how it recruits operatives, how it picks targets, how it plans and carries out attacks-came from the interrogation of terrorists in CIA custody.
Former CIA Director George Tenet and former CIA Director Mike Hayden have said: "The facts of the case are that the use of these techniques against these terrorists made us safer. It really did work."
Even Barack Obama's Director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, has acknowledged: "High-value information came from interrogations in which those methods were used and provided a deeper understanding of the al Qaeda organization that was attacking this country. Leon Panetta, Obama's CIA Director, has said: "Important information was gathered from these detainees. It provided information that was acted upon."
Despite the facts on Jan. 22, 2009, President Obama issued Executive Order 13491, closing the CIA program and directing that, henceforth, all interrogations by U.S personnel must follow the techniques contained in the Army Field Manual.
The morning of the announcement, Mike Hayden was still in his post as CIA Director, He called White House Counsel Greg Craig and told him bluntly: "You didn't ask, but this is the CIA officially nonconcurring". The president went ahead anyway, over ruling the objections of the agency.
A few months later, on April 16, 2009, President Obama ordered the release of four Justice Department memos that described in detail the techniques used to interrogate KSM and other high-value terrorists. This time, not just Hayden (who was now retired) but five CIA directors -including Obama's own director, Leon Panetta -- objected. George Tenet called to urge against the memos' release. So did Porter Goss. So did John Deutch. Hayden says: "You had CIA directors in a continuous unbroken stream to 1995 calling saying, 'Don't do this.'"
In addition to objections from the men who led the agency for a collective 14 years, the President also heard objections from the agency's covert field operatives. A few weeks earlier, Panetta had arranged for the eight top officials of the Clandestine Service to meet with the President. It was highly unusual for these clandestine officers to visit the Oval Office, and they used the opportunity to warn the President that releasing the memos would put agency operatives at risk. The President reportedly listened respectfully-and then ignored their advice.
With these actions, Barack Obama arguably did more damage to America and the Free World's security in his first 100 days of office than any enemy of the free world has the power nor will to do. We can and will argue "why" Obama has chosen to harm our nation to such an extent. Is it because of a desire to "transform" us to become more like other weaker global nations? Does he desire to overthrow our capitalist nation? Is he just so incompetent as a leader that "he knows not what he does"? They find a USB thumb-drive in the pocket of one of the men with security details for Heathrow airport, and information on seven trans-Atlantic flights that were scheduled to take off within hours of each other. They seize bomb-making equipment and hydrogen peroxide to make liquid explosives. And they find the chilling martyrdom videos the suicide bombers had prepared.
In addition to helping break up these specific terrorist cells and plots, CIA questioning provided our intelligence community with an unparalleled body of information about al Qaeda Until the program was temporarily suspended in 2006, intelligence officials say, well over half of the information our government had about al Qaeda-how it operates, how it moves money, how it communicates, how it recruits operatives, how it picks targets, how it plans and carries out attacks-came from the interrogation of terrorists in CIA custody.
Former CIA Director George Tenet and former CIA Director Mike Hayden have said: "The facts of the case are that the use of these techniques against these terrorists made us safer. It really did work."
Even Barack Obama's Director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, has acknowledged: "High-value information came from interrogations in which those methods were used and provided a deeper understanding of the al Qaeda organization that was attacking this country. Leon Panetta, Obama's CIA Director, has said: "Important information was gathered from these detainees. It provided information that was acted upon."
Despite the facts on Jan. 22, 2009, President Obama issued Executive Order 13491, closing the CIA program and directing that, henceforth, all interrogations by U.S personnel must follow the techniques contained in the Army Field Manual.
The morning of the announcement, Mike Hayden was still in his post as CIA Director, He called White House Counsel Greg Craig and told him bluntly: "You didn't ask, but this is the CIA officially nonconcurring". The president went ahead anyway, over ruling the objections of the agency.
A few months later, on April 16, 2009, President Obama ordered the release of four Justice Department memos that described in detail the techniques used to interrogate KSM and other high-value terrorists. This time, not just Hayden (who was now retired) but five CIA directors -including Obama's own director, Leon Panetta -- objected. George Tenet called to urge against the memos' release. So did Porter Goss. So did John Deutch. Hayden says: "You had CIA directors in a continuous unbroken stream to 1995 calling saying, 'Don't do this.'"
In addition to objections from the men who led the agency for a collective 14 years, the President also heard objections from the agency's covert field operatives. A few weeks earlier, Panetta had arranged for the eight top officials of the Clandestine Service to meet with the President. It was highly unusual for these clandestine officers to visit the Oval Office, and they used the opportunity to warn the President that releasing the memos would put agency operatives at risk. The President reportedly listened respectfully-and then ignored their advice.
With these actions, Barack Obama arguably did more damage to America and the Free World's security in his first 100 days of office than any enemy of the free world has the power nor will to do. We can and will argue "why" Obama has chosen to harm our nation to such an extent. Is it because of a desire to "transform" us to become more like other weaker global nations? Does he desire to overthrow our capitalist nation? Is he just so incompetent as a leader that "he knows not what he does"? No matter how we answer the "why", no sane person can argue the damage of the "what". For whatever his reasons he has put our families, loved ones, and soldiers at great and unnecessary risk.
