The folks at the Hubbard City Cafe may be the first in the nation to celebrate the good news from Europe, that being that SOCIALISM IS FAILING. As Billy Roy puts it, "You would think that watching the fall of the Soviet Union would be lesson enough. But it wasn't, what with Greece bankrupt and having to be bailed out by the Germans, who aren't happy about it at all. And they say Spain, Italy, and maybe even the UK are next. Even European folks will not put up with this kind of thing. Why should Germans work hard so that Greeks can retire early and well? The whole European Union idea is crumbling. And thank God, because we were following their path to some kind of Secular-Socialism as Newt puts it."
Butch jumped feet first, "I beg to differ, BM. We aren't following, we are racing to Socialism. According to the latest estimates, Obamacare will add more than $500 billion to the deficit over the next 10 years and $1.5 trillion in the decade following. Thank goodness support for the repeal of Obamacare is growing faster than the weeds in my chicken yard."
Joe Frank Dell responded before Butch could filibuster, "At least we have a chance to repeal Health Care. The stimulus and bail outs are money spent. Bozo Biden says the stimulus worked. And now the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor and Statistics released its monthly jobs report last week showing that the economy added 431,000 jobs in May. But don't let that number fool you. Of those 431,000 jobs, 411,000 jobs were temporary government Census jobs. In fact, private sector job growth actually fell in May, from 231,000 new private sector jobs in April to just 41,000 new private sector jobs in May. Combining the private and public sectors--the nation's unemployment rate fell to 9.7% as 286,000 workers left the labor force. In total the U.S. economy has now lost a net of 2.2 million jobs since 'Whose Ass Do I Kick' Obama signed his stimulus bill and his administration is now 7.2 million jobs short of what he promised."
BM came back, "I do believe this cloud has a silver lining, and if you're looking for one in the Greek crisis, here it is...Socialism's surprising resurgence in popularity over the past few years has crapped out. Done. Finished. They are proving what normal people know, you can't tax and spend your way to prosperity. Sooner or later, a thief like Obama that promises everything to everyone runs into the problem that there's no one left to pay for any of it -- and the house of cards collapses. That's what's happening in Greece and what's likely to happen in the rest of Europe, and it will stand in the way of any further efforts by Obama to take us down the road to Euro-socialism."
Butch muscled back in, "Just wait until the American people realize that we are already on the hook for Europe's debt. That's because much of the $1 trillion they're using to bail out Greece comes from the U.S. by way of the International Monetary Fund, to which we're by far the largest contributor. And that $1 trillion, you can be sure, is just the beginning. Meanwhile, here in the U.S. the Left has thoroughly infiltrated our society. That is, they hold power, influence and control of colleges, the elite news media, Hollywood, union leaders, trial lawyers, the courts, the Congress, and the bureaucracy at all levels of government. They are radically redefining (or as Obama says transforming) our very culture by deciding what is news, what is entertainment, what our children learn in school, and what kind of government we should have."
By now the lunch crowd began to flow into the cafe as the celebration of the Fall of European Socialism ran a little long. Even to the point that BM didn't even get to summarize. He probably would have said, "You heard the good news here first, the Greeks have awakened the American voter, who not only knows whose ass to kick but where to find them, and that would be in the White House."

These Folks Don't Forget The Little Things
Butch Jackson is well known around Hubbard City for having a memory that rarely forgets things of consequence, and many times things of lttle to no consequence. Butch helps all the folks at the Hubbard City Cafe remember things much to the dismay of the Progressive Elites who take their coffee at the Drug Store. It seems these Elite Spin Doctors hope that the folks are so busy watching Opra , NASCAR, and Katie Couric on the 6 o'clock news that we will forget little things that could become big things.
Well, Butch made a short list, short for Butch anyway, in answering a question from Billy Roy, "Just what things should we be remembering?"
1. Don't forget to watch this "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" thing in the Military. Just last Thursday, Sen. Roland Burris (D-Ill., remember he replaced Obama) complicated matters for Democrats by offering language that would draft the military into the war on the unborn. By a 15-12 vote, the Senate Armed Forces Committee agreed to an amendment that would lift the ban on abortions in all military facilities. As it stands, the Department of Defense is forbidden from performing abortions -- with exceptions for rape, incest, or the health of the mother. If the Burris language survives, some of the military's biggest civilian casualties will be the unborn. Medical facilities would turn into abortion clinics funded entirely by U.S. taxpayers. When old Wild Bill Clinton allowed military abortions back in 1993, doctors refused to perform them. Ultimately, the administration had to hire civilians to do the job.
(With Americans more pro-life than ever, it will be difficult to find men and women willing to destroy the next generation of U.S. soldiers. The military was meant to combat terrorism -- not perpetrate it against the unborn. Contact your Senators at 202-224-3121 and tell them to stop passing the President's liberal social agenda on the backs of American troops.)

(This week Democratic Colorado Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff finally admitted they "dangled" jobs in front of him the if he would drop out of a race, in Chicago many of Obama's goons, that being Emunuel and Valerie Jarret, are being summoned to testify in "Rod" Blagojevich trial, and don't let them give you that 'Politics as usual' crap).
3. Don't forget Obama promised unemployment would not exceed 8% if we would only approve his stimulus plan. (Just this week unemployment 'dipped' to 9.7% and many folks have given up looking. Obama added the bailouts of banks and auto companies to his stimulus spending spree not to mention health care driving our deficit up to $13 Trillion. The guy lies like a hungry bird dog offering to guard your hen house.)

It's Just Washington Politics and Everyone "Acting Alone" Does It
Chairman Billy Roy kicked off today's discussion of world events, "Last Friday the White House published a letter explaining away the 'Sestak Affair'. Everyone was supposed to have forgotten about it after the Memorial Day weekend. A holiday that was rained out for our President who was vacationing in Chicago and unable to attend a military ceremony. You know it seems to me that everyone is missing a big deal in this thing by not investigating what the Dems promised Arlen Spector to switch parties and then what they did to try protect him in the Democratic Primary or to double cross him, not sure which it is. What do have on this Butch?"
"Once again, BM, you nailed it with semi-penetrating scrutiny." Butch then spoke for some considerable time from a crumpled piece of notebook paper:
April, 1962: Billy Sol Estes is indicted as he ACTS ALONE to defraud the US government in Pecos, Texas despite his close connections with very powerful Washington politicians like Lyndon Banes Johnson (LBJ), former Leader of the US House (Estes later claims that LBJ was responsible for several deaths in West Texas as well as the assasination of President John F. Kennedy).
May, 1962: Robert Kennedy is rumored to hate the then VP, Lyndon Johnson, and is ACTING ALONE to attempt to force him from the ticket for re-election by threatening to release his association with Billy Sol Estes.
Nov 23, 1963: Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO), ACTING ALONE, assassinates President John F Kennedy in LBJ's home state of Texas after having married a Russian while living in that country and working with Communist organizations in New Orleans.
One hour and 20 minutes later: LHO shoots J. W. Tippit, an off-duty Dallas policeman, who is ACTING ALONE trying to apprehend LHO before the on-duty Dallas policemen and FBI agents can arrest him

Let's stop bribes and punish the co-ordinated collusion of Obama, Emanuel, Clinton, Spector, and Sestak. Collusion in which NONE OF THEM WERE ACTING ALONE! First they bribed Spector to get his vote for sure, then they may have attempted to bribe Sestak to fix the primary, or did they screw Spector with Sestak to get rid of him? Either one, their actions would make LBJ proud and real citizens sick!"

On this Memorial Day a good friend in Austin, Texas asked me to pass on a warning to the Hubbard City Cafe:

This morning, from a cave somewhere in Afghanistan , Taliban Minister of Migration, Mohammed Alibaba Akmed, warned the United States that, if military actions against Afghanistan continues, Taliban authorities intend to cut off America 's supply of 7-11 Managers and Motel 6 Managers. If this action does not yield sufficient results, cab drivers will be next, followed by DELL, AT&T and AOL customer service reps. Finally, if all else fails, they have threatened not to send us any more candidates for President either. It's gonna get ugly, people.

Dont' Just Give Thanks To Our Soldiers, Fight For Them
In 1776, an extraordinary group of men signed a document affirming our God-given right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Their commitment to the principles outlined here are summed up in its final sentence: "And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor."
Since the American Revolution, nearly 1.2 million American Patriots have died in defense of liberty. Additionally, 1.4 million have been wounded in combat, and tens of millions more have served honorably, surviving without physical wounds.
So on this Memorial Weekend the least we can do is fall to our knees in thankful prayer to honor these brave men and women who took the oath to risk their lives to defend our Constitution and the Liberty or Freedom that it so eloquently espouses.
At this time it is my feeling and belief that when we finish this prayer that we must do much more. We need to fight for the rights, safety, and support of our troops in these times when there are forces who do not respect and honor their mission nor their Constitution. How?
Let's start with supporting our military leaders, the leaders of all four service groups, who do not want the Congress to cram the elimination of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" down their throats. These leaders are reported to be furious with Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Obama's top military advisor, James Jones, for negotiating a compromise with the White House to allow the Congress to pass legislation to allow gays in the military WHILE THEY STUDY THE IMPACT of such legislation. This is another insane act, and in this case, it is clearly to appease the gay lobby even though it could bring great harm to our military readiness. Common sense says you do not allow a boy to shower and share an open dormitory with girls at summer camp without causing repercussions. Some of the girls would choose not to attend summer camp. Some of the parents would not allow this as well. Some of the kids would misbehave. The need for supervision would dramatically increase. The real truth is though, we have no idea what the repercussions would be. The same is most probable in disrupting our military that is terribly strained at this time as we fight two wars and face nuclear threats from Iran and North Korea.
Secondly, we need to leave the war strategies to the military. My gosh, did we not learn our lesson in Vietnam as to the results when politicians run a war. Military leaders will tell you today that Nam was a war of logistics. If we would have used our strength in mining and bombing the harbors in North Vietnam while bombing the supply routes in North Vietnam, China, and Laos the war would have been over much quicker and with a better outcome. We could have cut the supply lines to the Vietcong and NV troops in the South. Instead we were afraid the French would get mad if we harmed their ships and fought the Cong in their jungles instead. Today, our Commander in Chief tells the Taliban and Al-Qaida when we will leave Afghanistan, drags his feet in sending troops, and then warns the enemy before we send our troops into a city to drive out the bad guys. This is a "leave so we will not have to harm you and then we will leave your country and you bad guys can come back strategy". Maybe this worked for a community organizer in Chicago or in a debate at Harvard but it doesn't work in war, and our poor military leaders know it.
Thirdly, let the military (along with the CIA) set the rules of engagement with the enemy and handle captives without lawyers or politicians looking over their soldiers. When you are going into a village and a guy comes out with a gun, shoot him. Don't let him shoot first and while our soldier is making sure there aren't people in the line of fire. If we are not at war, then bring our troops home. If we are at war, let the military win.
Lastly along with insuring our military is well led, we need to drive our congressman crazy in making sure our service people are well paid, well armed, well supported, and receive world class medical and disability care. Too many stories are on the Internet about bureaucratic nightmares in providing proper care for returning service people. To hell with uninsured illegal immigrants. Take care of our returning soldiers.
Memorial day is a good time to give thanks for our troops and their sacrifice. The day after Memorial day is a good time to fight for our troops because of their sacrifice.

Causing Danger to Our Country While Suffering Fools?
The first cup of coffee hadn't hit the bottom of their cups yesterday until Billy Roy Mitchum, local C&W performer whose voice and stage presence would make any vineyard proud as it just gets better and better while semi-aging, posed the big question to Aunt Martha, local resident librarian and word expert, "What is the definition of TREASON?"
Aunt Martha relishes puzzles, quizzes, and challenges while not being completely upset about gaining the limelight. "Treason is the crime of of doing something that could cause danger to your country, such as helping its enemies during a war."
Well the noise was deafening as the folks pulled their chairs toward B.M. being he is the unofficial Chairman and all, "Some months ago I posed the question 'who will be the first big time political leader to speak the obvious by calling our President a Socialist', and as we heard last week, Newt clearly spoke the obvious in his new book labeling Obama a Secular-Socialist. Not as clear and obvious, but a real possibility is that someone will come forward in the not so distant future, and ask if our own President has crossed the line in a treasonous way?"
Lighting Sledge, world class fisherman and legendary enjoyer of life, broke the silence that followed B.M.'s profundity, "What events would make you even consider such an unimaginable thing in these United States of ours?"
"Well, if someone was infiltrating your country illegally by allowing more than 10 million people, including drug cartels and Islamic Jihadist Terrorists, would you think this might meet the definition of 'doing something that causes danger to your country?' Just last week for the first time (at least to this cowboy's knowledge), a foreign head of state (that being Mexico) who is promoting an illegal, and often dangerous invasion of America came to our country, met with our president, and, from the White House itself, received our president's public support for that invasion. This same Mexican bozo spoke to Congress and received a standing ovation from its Democratic members for his country's war on America's borders while the Republicans sat there on their hands like stumps on logs. I guess we are supposed to be pleased that they didn't applaud as well. Hell this guy, even received a standing ovation from the Democratic members of Congress when he criticized the citizens of Arizona for daring to try to fashion a defense of their part of the American-Mexican border. All the while he was supported by statements of our own president, attorney general, and secretary of homeland defense. And of course this is the attorney general who hasn't read the Arizona bill. Eric Holder's astonishing admission was completely ignored by ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, The Associated Press, Time or Newsweek, according to Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center."
And here came Butch Jackson who is a little slow suffering from some recent medical issues, "Any sane person would ask themselves this president's motive, and yet it is as clear as the bugs on your windshield, this Socialist must get re-elected to pass his extreme policies of transforming America into a Socialist State. He needs the Mexican vote plus other traditional Democratic voters. He and his machine will use the word DISCRIMINATION everywhere possible to appeal to feminists, gays, and blacks. And this next week he is going to try to make up with Israel, even against his favorite Middle East Muslims, to tuck in the Jewish vote. I have never understood why they vote Democrat when it's only the Republicans that stand between Israel and annihilation. Reid/Pelosi will push the elimination in the military of the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy through this week to try to get that voter group to the polls in November."
Butch is rolling downhill now, "Let's be honest, the real danger to America is not presidential impostors like Barack Hussein Obama but self centered and ignorant voters capable of putting someone like him in office. It will be far easier to repair the dangers of the Obama presidency than it will to repair the common sense and good judgment of voters who have put such a man in office. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Obama, who is a mere symptom of what is threatening America . Blaming Obama doesn't solve today's problem of 'single issue' voters who buy the idiot pitchs that pour from the Secular Socialist Machine."
And of course B.M. closed the coffee proceedings for the day, "I think what you are saying, Butch, is the Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely an ambitious fool. It is less likely to survive a whole bunch of fools from drugstores and Dairy Queens around the country such as those who made him their president."

Illegals and Discrimination
Got a call from Mom this weekend. She says never have the folks at the Cafe been as confused as they are over this whole Illegal Immigration problem that has morphed into claims of DISCRIMINATION. She says," It starts right there. Why is our own Federal Government more worried about discriminating against law breakers than they are enforcing our laws? What oaths did this Obama administration take?" Then Mom says the absurdities get even more surreal, "Why do people think Americans are racist when they welcome immigrants as long they abide by immigration laws, get a sponsor, obey American laws, pay their taxes, speak and read our English language, pledge allegiance to our nation, and don't expect welfare, social security, and health care support if they haven't paid anything into these funds?"
Mom is on a roll now obviously really wound up by the coaching of Billy Roy, Butch, Sweet Lou, Lightning, Aunt Martha, and the Cafe group, "The most recent insanity led by none other than our Commander in Chief is that any law enforcement officer that asks someone for their identity is RACIALLY PROFILING. My gosh," says Mom, "I am 88 years old and am asked for an ID when stopped by the police (I need to check into this), make a purchase with my credit card, have a doctors appointment, write a check or get cash from my own bank, when I renew my drivers license, buy prescription drugs, return from across the border from a Mexico shopping trip (Need to check this as well), buy any kind of insurance, donate blood, or board an airplane. Are these people racially profiling me? I'm sure there are more instances, but the point is, we citizens are required to prove who we are nearly every day."
And Mom wasn't through. "The guys at the Cafe say the only organizations they know of that really discriminate are groups like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the White Entertainment Television or White College Fund and see what happens. When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law of Probability."
"We are also really confused about the religious thing. Newt Gingrich calls these new Obama big government zealots SECULAR SOCIALIST and for good reason. When 86% of Americans believe in God.. We have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having 'In God We Trust' on our money and having 'God' in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why can't we put a cross on a hill to commemorate our World War One dead. Why don't we just tell the 14% of atheists to POUND SAND!!! (Where did Mom get this?) Let's hope this Tea Party Movement just gets bigger, louder, and floods the polls in November to help ALL American Citizens regain our rights. This ship must to be turned around."
