The story, "Making Obama-babies and Money in the Good Old USA" posted on August 20 was allegedly about a welfare ggrandmother receiving $1,500 per child and more than $144,000 annually by serving a a foster parent for her daughters children appears to have several misstated facts and maybe entirely untrue. It was supposed to be based on a letter from a Sebastian J. Ciancio, M.D. Urologist, Danville Polyclinic, LTD. This doctor reported that he heard the story from someone who was admitted to the emergency room. The State of Illinois pays more like $400 per child instead of the reported $1,500. Several other things in the report are highly questionable.
I sincerely apologize for not fact checking this letter before I posted it. I am also grateful for a regular blog reader calling this to my attention.
This unfortunant report does not change the fact that our welfare system is out of control and fraught with fraud as evidenced by the following facts:
Despite spending $4 Trillion from 2002 to 2009 our poverty rate increased from 12% to 14%, a 16% increase.
So is our spending at fault in not preventing additional proverty? From the year 2002 to 2011 we had the following percentage increases in spending in these welfare categories:
Medicaid up 87%
Food Stamps 256%
Child Nutrition 82%
Energy Assistance 190%
Tax Credits 353%
Today 53% of immigrants to the USA receive some form of government assistance. Many of these are illegals.
The most destructive aspect of this wealth redistribution is the creation of a culture of dependence and reliance. Some call it a "nanny state". While that is clearly the intent of the elite ruling class it will ultimately destroy our way of life if it remains unchecked. Our country is built on self reliance and hard work, and then charity only in rare situations and always under close supervision. Today welfare is not rare and the 50+ million Americans that receive it are not means tested nor monitored.
Again sorry for the misinformation, but not for the message.

P. S. One reader objected to the title. I guess this person found "Obama-babies" insulting. I feel those who are perpetrating these wealth redistribution plans to buy votes (Obama, Reid, Pelosi, etc.) should be insulted along with those who participate in milking the system. No Ethics, No Competence, No Growth
Seems like economic growth in the US and Europe is negative to near zero. Why? We are told that companies are not employing people and expanding. They are sitting on trillions of dollars. Likewise, consumers are not spending. Why aren't they? To understand it let's review our recent history.
The financial elite had a little problem. They made a lot of bad loans, mostly in real estate, packaged them in bundles and sold them to other financial institutions. It was like passing along a hot potato. When foreclosures mounted it all hit the fan. However, the elite did make a ton of money in the process. People found out their financial elite were not only incompetent but were also unethical.
Along come the political elite to the financial elite's rescue. They deem their brothers too big to fail, and armed with our and our children and grandchildren's money (taxpayers), they bail them out. Yet, the political elite don’t hold anyone responsible for wrecking the economy of most of the free world. Why? Maybe because they had aided and abetted the scam by encouraging, if not forcing, them to make these bad loans to gain votes while keeping interest rates low to make it easier. All American’s had a RIGHT to own their own home, right? They even assured their financial contributors they would back them up with Fannie and Freddie. Lastly, they passed new financial regulations even though they never enforced the old ones. And you can never replace ethics with regulations even if you did enforcement. So people found out that their political elite were not only incompetent but also unethical.
So why don't the American people have confidence in the financial and political institutions? Why do they want to put their money in a coffee can and bury it in their back yards? They know there is nothing as dangerous as incompetent and unethical people in high places. In other words, our elites suck!
So what is our solution? Throw the bums out and replace them with the likes of Marco Rubio, or Paul Ryan, or Mitch Daniels! Maybe even appoint a Secretary of the Treasury that doesn't come from Goldman Sachs.
But let's start at the top. Even though Obama came late to the financial party, the crisis party, he is clearly incompetent beyond belief and an incredibly unethical liar as evidenced by Obamacare which will do more damage than the financial crisis if implemented. Let's face the truth. Affirmative action at the White House level has us in a helluva fix. Affirmative action poisons every well, including the minorities it is supposed to be helping. Let's get over our guilt and truly treat everyone the same.
And our big question is which of our candidates is not elite? Which one is a Reagan instead of a Bush or a McCain? Even if they are ethical and somewhat competent, the elite will ultimately compromise with the elite resulting in a ruling class. Our founders left Europe to escape the ruling class. Which candidate is competent? Which one is ethical? Is it Romney, Perry, or Bachmann? Or must we kidnap Chris Christie and force him to run? Let's hope we figure it out over the next few months. We failed miserably in 2008.

Making Obama-babies and Money in the Good Old USA
The cafe is buzzing this week over a story forwarded from one of the blog's friends in the big city of Dallas. Here is why?
"This is preposterous! An emergency room physician told me that a woman in her late 20's came to the ER today with her 8th pregnancy. She told the first doctor she saw: 'My Mama told me that I am the breadwinner for the family.' He asked her to explain. She said that she can make babies and babies get money from the State for the family. It goes like this: The Grandma calls the Department of Child & Family Services, and states that the unemployed daughter is not capable of caring for all of her kids. DCFS (Department of Child and Family Services)agrees, and tells her the children will need to go into foster care.
The Grandma then volunteers to be the foster parent, and receives a check for $1500 per child each month in Illinois. Total yearly income:$144,000 tax-free and nobody has to go to work!
In fact, they get more if there is no husband/father/man in the home!
Not to mention free healthcare (Medicaid), plus a monthly card entitling them to free groceries and a voucher for 250 free Obamaphone minutes each month. This does not include Women, Infants, and Children (WIC provides Federal grants to States for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk) and other welfare benefits... Indeed, Grandma was correct that her fertile daughter is the 'breadwinner' for the family.
This is how the liberal politicians spend our tax dollars. When this generous program was invented in the '60s, the Great Society architects (remember LBJ) forgot to craft an end date... and now we are hopelessly overrun with people who vote only for those who will continue to keep them on the dole.... No wonder our country is broke! Worse, the Muslims have been paying attention, and by mandating that each Muslim family have eleven children, they will soon replace the voting bloc above and can be running this country within 50 years.
Are we alarmed yet?

Awe Heck, Algore and Barrack Are Going To Need A New Scam
The news is leaking out that that several months ago the Chicago Climate Exchange closed its doors after receiving no orders to trade carbon credits for a full 10 months. To jog your memory this was a scam by people like Algore, Goldman Sachs, and of course, our beloved leader BHO who has lots of stock stashed away in a trust fund until he gets out of office. The scam failed when the Cap and Trade Bill that would force companies and others like farmers and ranchers to buy credits to release carbon into the air (like we do when we breathe) failed.
Below I have reprinted this blog's July 19, 2010 posting about the Exchange and, on a local basis, how this Global Warming issue was playing out in Hubbard City at that time. This posting has clearly been the most popular as measured by visitors who have visited this blog site.

Trading Cow Fart Credits (CFCs)?
Those of you who have been following this blog for some time know that downtown Hubbard City suffers from Global Warming every July and August. Those of the current Ruling Class who take their coffee at the Hubbard City Drugstore blame the warming on excessive gas expelled by cows who reside on land owned and operated by one Scott Riddle, local rancher and insurance barren and husband of Pat, who is an angel. Scott, his family, and many cows live west of downtown Hubbard.
Well, it seems the real estate market is somewhat slow in Hubbard, and a local unnamed realtor, Ram He-Mauel, is not letting this warming crisis go to waste. Seems this entrepreneur has set up an exchange where he will buy Cow Fart Credits (CFCs) from those who own land (and don't own cows) and sell them to Scott Riddle (who owns many, many farting cows). Legislation has been proposed to the Hubbard City Counsel that would require any rancher to have no more than one cow farting per every 20 acres. This legislation would allow the trading of Cow Fart Credits (CFCs) to balance farts across central Texas ranches. This legislation is entitled: CRAP AND TRADE. This writer will follow this pending legislation and hopes to interview most of the involved parties once the air clears. Stay tuned.Meanwhile, Once Happy Harry Reid is preparing to bring a Cap and Trade Bill to his crack governing body in Washington, D.C. This legislation would be patterned after Al Gore and friends plans to save the world from global warming while they also stimulate the capitalist system. Algore is an investor in the Chicago Climate Exchange along with other honorable people like Goldman Sachs. This exchange provides a trading floor for Carbon Credits (the exchange takes a fee around 4% for every trade).
Traders include organizations like The National Farmers Union who promotes tax payer scams like renewable energy sources such as ethanol, bio diesel and wind energy. National Farmers Union’s Carbon Credit Program is a multi-state program that allows farmers and landowners to earn income by storing carbon in their soil through "no-till" crop production and long term grass seeding practices. We know a lot of lazy farmers around Hubbard that would love the "no till" way of making money by just letting the carbon stay in the ground, huh? Farmers Union has earned approval from the Chicago Climate Exchange to aggregate carbon credits. Farmers Union is enrolling producer areas of carbon into blocks of credits that will be traded on the Exchange, much like other agricultural commodities are traded.
The National Farm Union surprisingly were big supporters of President Hussein in 2008. They graded each of the candidates based on their policies. Obama received a perfect 100% rating, based on his support of the 2008 Farm Bill and a renewable fuel standard. On the other hand, the organization gave John McCain a grade of zero percent, in part because he was in favor of reducing subsidies for ethanol and food products (can you imagine that?).
Folks, we are not making this up. The greatest scam ever is unfolding before our very eyes. Al Gore, Valerie Jarrett, Obama, the Green Movement, and the Chicago Machine are all financially invested in this ridiculous scheme. They have BILLIONS of YOUR DOLLARS in their gun sites.
This nation can not survive Socialized Health Care, the auto industry takeover by unions, government bailouts, deficit spending, and takeovers of Wall Street (with their Goldman Sachs accomplices), and now the proposed CRAP AND TRADE.

BM and Old Duke At Their Best
OK, I will admit that I am a sucker for any song that includes a man's best friend, particularly with a name like Old Duke. Particularly if Old Duke looks a lot like my old dog named Willie. Include a young cowboy and a pick up truck and I go for my wallet. Make it sorrowful with the pain of a good break up with a pretty girl, and I will recommend it to my friends. Make the presentation from Old Duke's perspective, and I am beside myself going all in with my whole stack of chips.
And then, and then, have none other than Billy Roy Mitchum (really spelled Mitcham, I misspell it so he can't sue me for using his name) sing the song from Old Buck's perspective, and I am way over the top with shear delight. As you know BM is the un-official Chairman of the Hubbard City Cafe and semi-local Country and Western star of some renown. Insiders even know that BM bought my old motor scooter as a young boy when I moved up to my first car at the age of 14.
Just wait. You are going to love this new video. If you don't, I can't help you. I challenge anyone to watch this just one time. This video was filmed along Texas highway 31 in and around Hubbard City. Watch closely and you will see Jim Ray Hammer's service station where I bought my first set of new tires for my solid red 1953 Mercury. Stocks Falling? What We Have Here Is A Love and Truth Problem
Just across the street from the Hubbard City Cafe is the Country Kitchen. It is owned and run by a somewhat old boyhood friend who I grew up with. His name is Billy Mack Waller, a.k.a. Low Dollar Waller. Billy Mack is the uncle of a well known country and western star named Wade Bowen. Billy Mack is also a devout Christian who will discuss his faith at the drop of a baseball cap.
A well kept secret is that the absolute best hamburger in the whole world does not come from the Hubbard City Cafe but from the grill of Billy Mack Waller. So on a regular basis, I turn my Hubbard City Cafe cap around backwards, out of respect for my good friend, and eat at the Country Kitchen. I might add the only thing better than Billy's hamburger is his cheeseburger and onion rings. But I digress.
Recently I brought up the subject of our current White House resident and then absorbed a whole lot of home spun philosophy that I thought was very insightful. Bill talked about love and truth of all things. Here is the gist of the dialogue:
"A man does what a man loves in most cases. So what does our President love? Our Constitution? Nope, he loads his administration with Czars to get around our Constitutional Governing Process. Our country's history and culture? Nope, he wants to change and transform it. Our free enterprise business environment? Nope, he constantly demonizes business and thinks we must be tightly regulated. Our military? Nope, like most Liberals he has a strong distaste for the military and a desire to reduce our forces and withdraw as the world's peace keeper. Black and brown races? Nope, he continues to increase their addiction to welfare and government dependency. Families? While he appears to be a good family man, he makes abortion easy and is clearly for redefining marriage from our creators plan of one man/one woman. Does he love America's allies around the world. Nope, he constantly throws them under the bus whether it is Egypt, Iraq, or Afghanistan. I could go on. So what does he love? He loves one thing, OBAMA (period)."
"Now the second question. What is his truth? A man's truth is generally that which serves his LOVE. This means every event, every piece of data, every proposal, every ally, and every moment of every day Obama will select what he claims to be true based on whether he believes it serves his LOVE which is himself. He cherry picks statistics. He exaggerates. He distorts. In fact, he lies. A study of his Health Care Plan, known as Obamacare, is a perfect example. He promised things that he knows are not true. Big things like the plan would bring down every one's health care costs. Everyone, if they choose, may keep their own insurance policy. He would not raise taxes on anyone who makes under $250 thousand and then buried taxes throughout Obamacare including a tax on people selling their homes. He raised taxes on cigarettes. Most recently he said that if we lost our AAA credit rating it would be a tax on all Americans and that we must raise the debt ceiling to avoid this tax. He then was a huge obstacle to debt reduction and blamed the downgrading of our credit rating on Standard and Poors and The Tea Party. No one ever 'made it up as they went more than this President'. So what is our President's truth? Obama's truth is selectively what he believes serves him best at the time (period)."
Nothing like a little Christian philosophy with your burger and rings. But, you know Bill has it just right. So what is in Obama's personal interest at this time. He must say what his big money Liberal donors want to hear to raise his $1 billion to buy his re-election. He must find someone on the right to demonize. That appears to be moving from Bush to the Tea Party. He must take actions to buy votes. This past week he funded programs and gave tax credits to aid returning veterans, he will support same sex marriage, he will extend unemployment and call it adding jobs, he will work with the mainstream press to manage the data that reaches the American people (the Austin American Statesman had the article on the credit rating downgrade on page 5 of section B), and he will use every deceitful scare tactic possible claiming how the Republicans will bring harm to children, the elderly, and the ill (not guaranteeing the payment of social security checks and destroying medicare). On the practice of demonizing, we haven't seen anything yet. With the $1 billion war chest, just wait until the Republicans select a candidate. This will predictably be the dirtiest campaign ever launched in the history of the American democratic process.
Bottom line, none of these acts will grow our economy nor will they reduce our skyrocketing debt. In other words we have another year+ of misery.
In fact the process could be renamed, Demon-cratic.
Think about it as your IRA and 401Ks go buy, buy, Bama.

Recently I brought up the subject of our current White House resident and then absorbed a whole lot of home spun philosophy that I thought was very insightful. Bill talked about love and truth of all things. Here is the gist of the dialogue:
"A man does what a man loves in most cases. So what does our President love? Our Constitution? Nope, he loads his administration with Czars to get around our Constitutional Governing Process. Our country's history and culture? Nope, he wants to change and transform it. Our free enterprise business environment? Nope, he constantly demonizes business and thinks we must be tightly regulated. Our military? Nope, like most Liberals he has a strong distaste for the military and a desire to reduce our forces and withdraw as the world's peace keeper. Black and brown races? Nope, he continues to increase their addiction to welfare and government dependency. Families? While he appears to be a good family man, he makes abortion easy and is clearly for redefining marriage from our creators plan of one man/one woman. Does he love America's allies around the world. Nope, he constantly throws them under the bus whether it is Egypt, Iraq, or Afghanistan. I could go on. So what does he love? He loves one thing, OBAMA (period)."
"Now the second question. What is his truth? A man's truth is generally that which serves his LOVE. This means every event, every piece of data, every proposal, every ally, and every moment of every day Obama will select what he claims to be true based on whether he believes it serves his LOVE which is himself. He cherry picks statistics. He exaggerates. He distorts. In fact, he lies. A study of his Health Care Plan, known as Obamacare, is a perfect example. He promised things that he knows are not true. Big things like the plan would bring down every one's health care costs. Everyone, if they choose, may keep their own insurance policy. He would not raise taxes on anyone who makes under $250 thousand and then buried taxes throughout Obamacare including a tax on people selling their homes. He raised taxes on cigarettes. Most recently he said that if we lost our AAA credit rating it would be a tax on all Americans and that we must raise the debt ceiling to avoid this tax. He then was a huge obstacle to debt reduction and blamed the downgrading of our credit rating on Standard and Poors and The Tea Party. No one ever 'made it up as they went more than this President'. So what is our President's truth? Obama's truth is selectively what he believes serves him best at the time (period)."
Nothing like a little Christian philosophy with your burger and rings. But, you know Bill has it just right. So what is in Obama's personal interest at this time. He must say what his big money Liberal donors want to hear to raise his $1 billion to buy his re-election. He must find someone on the right to demonize. That appears to be moving from Bush to the Tea Party. He must take actions to buy votes. This past week he funded programs and gave tax credits to aid returning veterans, he will support same sex marriage, he will extend unemployment and call it adding jobs, he will work with the mainstream press to manage the data that reaches the American people (the Austin American Statesman had the article on the credit rating downgrade on page 5 of section B), and he will use every deceitful scare tactic possible claiming how the Republicans will bring harm to children, the elderly, and the ill (not guaranteeing the payment of social security checks and destroying medicare). On the practice of demonizing, we haven't seen anything yet. With the $1 billion war chest, just wait until the Republicans select a candidate. This will predictably be the dirtiest campaign ever launched in the history of the American democratic process.
Bottom line, none of these acts will grow our economy nor will they reduce our skyrocketing debt. In other words we have another year+ of misery.
In fact the process could be renamed, Demon-cratic.
Think about it as your IRA and 401Ks go buy, buy, Bama.

Bush's Stock Market Plunges As Hubbard City Turns to Cow Fart Crisis
Now that we have fixed the debt ceiling thing and avoided worldwide financial catastrophe we can focus on major local issues. Things like watching our IRAs collapse (11% so far) with the George Bush caused stock market plunge this week (hopefully Obama can save us and keep the DOW from losing more than 2,000). It makes you wonder what would have happened if Obama and Boehner hadn’t done such a great job fixing the debt ceiling and our debt problems. In Hubbard we have the same really big issue we have it seems every July and August. The problem does have a new name this year as it has become CLIMATE CHANGE INSTEAD OF GLOBAL WARMING. Seems to happen almost every year in downtown Hubbard City.
The climate seems to change mostly around the Hubbard City Drug Store where global warming used to happen as well. This is also where Hubbard’s Liberals/Progressives/”What Evers” have their coffee. Whereas the Café folks stick mostly to just coffee, unless there is a major birthday or something, the Libs will bring in fancy things like sweet rolls, donuts, and coffee cake on just plain ole regular days. They even bring in homemade biscuits and gravy on big special occasions like Obama’s birthday or May Day or celebration of the Cuban Revolution.
Well it seems there is a rumor that has been revealed at the Café that the Libs are boiling over again this year feeling really strong that the climate change will reach what they call single digits. That would be something like all ones, you know 111 degrees. And again this year they are blaming this change on Scott Riddle’s cow farts. To jog your memory Scott is the nephew of hall of fame baseball player and former resident of Hubbard, one Tris Speaker. Scott moved to the city, that would be Waco, and became an Insurance tycoon. After coming back to Hubbard he bought bottom land about three miles north of Hubbard and filled it up with big old cows. It is alleged by the Libs, who are supported by former agriculture teacher J. B. Nunnelly, that as drought sets in and the grass gets real dry the cows release exceptional and excessive amounts of gas carbons into the air. There are those who claim that Scott, an avowed Conservative, aims the cows every July/August right at the downtown Hubbard Drug Store.
The rumor has it that the Libs have taken some of their Stimulus money and have been preparing a protest sign. This is really big because Hubbard City has never had a protest sign before of any kind, not even when the City Council banned high school same sex marriages. Now normally the Café would send my Aunt Martha, who writes a column for the Hubbard City News called the "Snoop", into the Drug Store to find out what is happening. This isn’t possible because Aunt Martha has been hospitalized with a low sodium condition. She went to the hospital after I strongly insisted that she do so. Seems Hubbard folks listen to me a lot about medical conditions and take my advice knowing that I play golf with several doctors here in Austin on a semi-regular basis.
To defend himself against possible protest signs it appears Scott has gone down to his old friend and former football team mate, Doyle Lee Holman who now runs the Hubbard Loan Company located on main street just out of the climate change zone, who has sold Scott a semi-official looking certificate. The certificate says Scott has bought Carbon Credits to offset excessive cow farting (Algore is involved in this somehow as well).
Looks like this could wind up on the desk of local Justice of the Peace, Big Brad Henley who is also a former football team mate of Scott’s. Also since Aunt Martha’s daughter is the JP’s assistant it would appear that Scott is going to come out of this OK again this year to the serious frustration of the folks at the Drug Store.
So this appears to be something you really don’t have to think about too much,
