Obama Administration On Trial

Butch Jackson sometimes thinks that the use of big words, words like sovereign, get in the way of understanding right from wrong. Butch thinks these big words have become hard to understand because our schools have been somewhat dumbed down as not to discriminate against anyone. But on this day education was not the main topic at the Hubbard City Cafe.

The fact that the United States of America went to war against the world's greatest power at the time, that being the British, to gain our independence or sovereignty was the topic of the day. "A sovereign state or country is independent and not under the authority of any other country or world organization," Butch launched his opening remarks. "So why in the world do smart ass lawyers and idiots like the ACLU want to prosecute American Heroes like these Navy SEALs that allegedly punched a terrorist? Although every human being wants to be free and secure, there aren't many today like these SEALs that will actually fight, or even die, for their country's sacred rights to remain strong and independent so that we can defend, when necessary, freedom throughout the world."

Joe Barger Heard had a question, "Great speech, Butch, but does anyone know what the heck put this burr under his saddle?"

Billy Roy came in like A good Chairman should, "I think I do. In 2004 Islamic Terrorists captured four Blackwater employees in Fallujah, Iraq, murdered them and dragged the mutilated bodies around in the streets of the city, then burned and hung them from a bridge. The murderers gathered to celebrate and have their photos taken with the trophy. Navy SEALs have since secretly captured the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of these four Blackwater USA security guards. The three SEALs who captured this scumbag are now facing criminal charges. Seems like the scumbag terrorist says the SEALs either punched him in the lip or stomach or hopefully both. Also, it is my observance that Butch is becoming a real 'Constitutionalist', tying most if not all things to the Progressives attack on our Constitution."

"You got it, BM," Butch regained the speaking platform. "Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges. I've got their names right here. Matthew McCabe, a Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class (SO-2), is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault. Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement. Petty Officer Julio Huertas, SO-1, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation. The three were given an opportunity to basically plead guilty without punishment, but insisted on being heard in a court-martial. By the way, the scum bag's name is Ahmed Hashim Abed. Our Military, trying to please their Politically Correct leaders, don't even understand who is really on trial here. It ain't the Seals, but the Obama Administrtion that is on trial in the court of popular opinion."

Mom had a comment, "Seems like we have gone from speak softly but carry a big stick to whisper and don't even use a switch."

Butch returned to his Constitutional defense, "This is a perfect example of how the Progressive Libs are attacking our Constitutional Principles of sovereignty, security, and freedom with their efforts to push their constantly changing views of Social World Justice. They hate our Military and our leadership position in the world. They 'lawyer up' anyone who can assist them in painting Americans as evil bullies destroying the tranquil peace in places like the Middle East. Lawyers want to give American legal rights to murdering battlefield combatants who will indiscriminately kill innocents just to bully and terrorize. The political elite's intent is to gain control, and if successful, they will destroy our way of life."

Joe Barger pushed in, "I've got it now, and I am not surprised our 'community organizer' has brought politics to the battlefield. All an enemy combatant has to do now is complain they were mistreated, and in this case, they take three heroic soldiers off the battlefield. By the way, did you see the latest from Obama. He said America's being a big old superpower is a real burden to him."

"I've got it right here," Butch jumped back in quoting Big Barry, " 'When conflicts break out, one way or another, we get pulled into them. And that ends up costing us significantly in terms of both blood and treasure.' Even a Moderate like John McCain, went crazy, 'The remark represents a direct contradiction to everything America believes in. That's one of the more incredible statements I've ever heard a president of the United States make in modern times. We are the dominant superpower, and we're the greatest force for good in the history of this country, and I thank God every day that we are a dominant superpower.' I would imagine John would like to give his Communist capturers more than a bloody lip if given the chance. Poor John can't even lift his arms because of the torture he received in Nam."

BM couldn't resist a summary, "The closest thing to torture Obama has experienced is when he has to speak without Mr. Teleprompter. Even then, it is harder on his audience than on him."

Billy Roy Endorses A Video Thats All Black

Billy Roy Mitchum saw a video on the Internet that really turned him on. He rolled into the Hubbard City Cafe in a somewhat uncharacteristic and fairly verbose mood, "It is so sad to see politicians screaming 'racist' each time someone questions an Obama policy. Recently Newt said 'Obama should spend less time playing basketball and more time working on creating jobs', and Newt got slammed. How sad when you know that young black people are suffering the most from unemployment. It seems this is where the Libs go when they are unable to defend their policies (Stimulus and government out of control spending) and the awful results of their actions (government takeovers). I don't know anyone that doesn't like Blacks because they are black. I do know a lot of people that don't like many things that represent a segment of today's Black Culture. Things like Gangster Rap, the large percentage of unwed mothers, high crime rates, high abortion rates, high school drop out rates, and high drug usage. Hell, I hate those same things when white people do them as well, and too many white people are guilty of the same things."

"Some wacko folks still want to blame today's Whites for slavery. This country went through hell freeing the slaves and ensuring that everyone has 'equal rights' (not equal results) under the law. We should celebrate these accomplishments. Drug Store Liberals as well as Cafe Conservatives should commit to Martin Luther King's wish that everyone is 'judged by their character and not the color of their skin'. And of course the Dairy Queen Moderates will want to compromise some how, but who cares what they want. You know most Moderates would straddle barbed wire they are so committed to fence sitting."

"Let's see if we can get Jim to ask bloggers to paste this into their browsers (if you don't know how, call Jim) and watch this 8 minute video. I guarantee it is worth the time. If anyone watches and doesn't like it I'll give em free tickets to my next concert at Carnegie Hall."

Only Butch Could Be So Wound Up and Burned Out At The Same Time

Butch Jackson is a huge sports fan, and particularly fond of golf and golf history. He was bubbling when he came through the front door of the Cafe this week, "Doesn't get better than a Phil Mickelson win at the Masters. Haven't enjoyed anything more since Hubbard beat Keller in the 1957 Regional Championship Game."

"Why is this such a big deal?" asked most if not all the coffee drinkers knowing this is exactly what Butch was hoping for and not having anything better to talk about.

"Glad you asked," answered Butch as he sucked in a deep breath signaling to his audience they were in some degree of trouble regarding any future time schedules or commitments. "Phil represents a long line of players who signify the true golf tradition. Golf is one of the last great examples of gentlemanly pursuits. Phil is a gentleman like Palmer, Nicklaus, Watson, Hogan, Nelson, Jones, and many others. He repects the game of golf. By that he is courteous to the fans what with knucking and high fiving them all around the course. He tips his cap. My gosh he not only talks to his opponents, but even to his opponents caddies. Not to mention his family situation with the sick wife and all."

"Heck on one green one of those little worm looking things flew off a pine tree and fell into the path of his ball, threw it off course, cost him a stoke, or he would have won by 4 shots. You know what? Phil didn't say damn, suck, or anything like that. No tantrums. He just kept playing all the while showing repect for players and fans alike. There just aren't many gentleman in the public eye these days what with people like Barney Frank, Bernie Madoff, Rahm Emanuel, and Snoop Dog."

Billy Roy Michum came to every one's rescue, "Butch, you look awful eventhough you sound alright. Are you OK?"

"You are very observant, BM. Thanks for asking. Actually I was up all night sick as a dog living on an unlimited supply of food stamps. I didn't have the patience to stand in line at Jasper's in Waco to get my usual BBQ fix and so I threw down a couple of really bad chopped semi-beef sandwiches at The Jug. I piled on some onions, sour pickles, and jalapenos to try to cushion the blow, but it didn't work. Man, not only did it jump the curb and do a 'head on' right into my mid section, but I had horrible nightmares all over me during what little time I slept."

"Listen to this," Butch was going down hill now with no signs of braking, "I dreamed some guy was born a Muslim, sneaked into several of those fancy Yankee schools, worked in a big Northern City helping folks sponge off us taxpayers, and of all things, somehow was elected President of these United States. Then I dreamed this guy was over in Europe negotiating a Nuclear Arms treaty (not making this up) with the Ruskies when the President of Poland was flying across Russia and crashed killing himself and everything. And then Puten, the old KGB guy, was going to personally investigate everything. Can you imagine something like this terrifying you in middle of the night?"

"Nothing scares me more than weapons treaties. Everybody knows if Islamic Extremists and Communist did away with their weapons, we would have no more violence. On the other hand if we and the free world put down our weapons, than there would be no more free world."

All the folks sat back waiting for Billy Roy to decide which direction this conversation should take. After mulling over his options for some time BM came forward, "What kind of sauce did you put on that sandwich, Butch? Their normal 'Slippin and Sliddin Sauce' or 'Jug's Own Personal Inferno'? Sounds like you mixed em."

"I didn't think it would hurt to mix em a little," Butch was pretty sheepish by now because everybody in Hubbard knows if you have to eat at The Jug that you don't mix these two sauces in any seven day period much less on the same sandwich.

Joe Borger Hurd could not hold back any longer, "Boy, that must have been a hell of a long line at Jaspers."

"Yep, must of been 8-10 people," Butch exaggerated of course but no more than usual.

Joe Borger likes Butch because he's not around him very much, "Don't seem fair, Butch, but knowing the hurry you are generally in, I certainly understand making a mistake like this. Man, if it were me, I would stay up all night tonight before I would expose myself to another dream like that. You know that mixed sauce doesn't wear off for several days, and you don't need a dream like that to come back on you, ever."

Maybe we should all think about eating more chicken,

Cafe Fears Government Takeover of Country Music

The story going around the Cafe is that the Obama administration is helping in many ways not imagined until now. Joe Borger Hurd, local farmer and grain kingpin second only to maybe Billie Sol Estes, reports that a cousin rancher from Colorado says they are scratching their heads in that state. Joe B. says, "For any Yankees in the blogosphere who don't know cattle guards are horizontal steel rails placed at fence openings, in dug-out places in the roads adjacent to highways (sometimes across highways), to prevent cattle from crossing over that area. For some reason the cattle will not step on the 'guards', probably because they fear getting their feet caught between the rails."

"A few months ago, President Obama received a report that there were over 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado. Because Colorado ranchers had protested his proposed changes in grazing policies, he decided to punish them by ordering the Secretary of the Interior to fire half of the guards immediately."

"Before the Interior Secretary could respond and presumably straighten him out, Vice-President, Crazy Joe Biden, intervened with a request that before any guards were fired, they be given six months of retraining. Now we understand Pelosi and Reid are ripped because they think the whole guard thing is the perfect type of program that should be rammed through by the Legislature to insure that all illegals are exempt from any loss of employment."

Meanwhile, Billy Roy Mitchum is fearful that Country and Western music is getting so popular that he fears a government takeover. Some months ago this fear led him to start following the Chryler takeover to see what he could learn, just in case. He gave a more than full report on his findings this week, "Unbelievable! This could be a scandal that makes Nixon's Watergate or Clinton 's Monica Lewinsky affair look like Little League Games. Roll the clock back to the weeks just before Chrysler declared bankruptcy. Chrysler, like GM, was in really bad financial trouble and our federal government 'graciously' offered to 'buy the company' and keep them out of bankruptcy and 'save jobs'. Chrysler was, in the words of Obama and his crowd, 'Too big to fail', same story with GM, remember."

"Well the feds organized their 'Automotive Task Force' to fix Chrysler and GM. Obama, in an act that is 110% unconstitutional, appointed a guy named Steve Rattner to be the White House's official Car Czar — literally. Initially, the national media reported that Chrysler had made a list of dealerships to be closed as a big cost cutting measure. That turned out not to be true. The Washington Examiner, Newsmax, Fox New and a host of other somewhat honest news agencies discovered that the list of dealerships was put together by the 'Automotive Task Force' headed by no one other than Mr. Steve Rattner. Now the plot thickens. Actually there's a very interesting pattern as to who was closed down. Of the 789 dealerships closed by the federal government, 788 had donated money exclusively to Republican political causes, while contributing nothing to Democratic political causes. The only 'Democratic' dealership on the list was found to have donated to Hillary and John Edwards' campaigns. Steve Rattner is the guy who put the list together."

By now Butch Jackson head had slammed the table as he dosed off and splashed coffee profusely on everyone at his table.

BM continued, "Well it gets sleazier because Rattner happens to be married to a Maureen White. Maureen happens to be the former national finance chairman of the Democratic National Committee. As such, she has access to campaign donation records from everyone in the nation, Republican or Democrat. Well, Obama's Car Czar, Steve Rattner, resigned on July 13."

"By the way, Rattner is under investigation for a multi-million dollar pay-to-play investment bank scandal in New York. Uh-oh! Obama has 32 personally appointed 'czars' who answer to no one but him, all of whom are acting without any Constitutional authority. This Obama team of hit men is bigger than anything Al Capone ever had."

Butch had regained consciousness by now, "So what, BM?"

"So what?" bellowed BM. "Barry could appoint a Country and Western Czar at any moment. That Czar could get the people at the Drug Store to pick and choose which bars should be closed right here in Hill County, Texas. Hell, we might wind up with nothing but Hip Hop or something like that."

Maxine Calls for Taxpayer Takeover

Mom, with the help of her loyal son, completed her Federal Tax Return this weekend, and for the first time in her adult life, put a big Zero on the bottom line. Yep, Mom owes no taxes this year what with low interest rates on savings and such. Interestingly she wasn't all that happy about joining the ranks of those who don't pay taxes. "I think it is time for taxpayers to take a play out of the Liberals playbook and propose COMPREHENSIVE VOTER REFORM," launched Mom's rare opening statement on the floor of the Hubbard City Cafe.

"Here is my idea", she proceeded in rare form. "The Liberals have their Comprehensive Health Care Law which basically puts the Federal Government in charge of determining who gets what medical care, at what price, and who pays for it. Basically it is just another takeover program to transfer hard earned assets from taxpayers to non-taxpayers. They call it redistribution as if we don't know what they are doing."

"Now they want to pass Comprehensive Energy Reform to boost Algore and his pals clean energy investments while passing a massive tax increase on everyone else. Then, of course, they will follow with Comprehensive Immigration Reform to try to put 15-30 million illegals on the entitlement roles to buy votes to make up for all the votes Obama is losing now that the silly voters understand his Socialist takeover plans. In fact "Comprehensive Reform" appears to be a code term for TAKEOVER."

"Enough of my negativity. Let me make a positive suggestion. Why don't we pass COMPREHENSIVE VOTER REFORM? It would be simple and could be described on one page. Basically a voter gets one vote for every one dollar paid in taxes. You pay $10,000 and you get 10,000 votes. You pay no taxes, you get no votes. Why should you get a vote on how our government should spend our money if you don't contribute to the process. In fact, as I understand it, we are very close to having more freeloaders paying no taxes than taxpayers."

Butch was the first to respond, "Gosh, sounds awfully business like. People with no stock in Microsoft don't get the same voting power as Bill Gates, do they? Imagine what kind of company Berkshire Hathaway would be if Warren Buffett just got one vote. Those companies would probably be run by bureaucrats, losing tons of money, producing lousy products, and running huge deficits. In fact if they could print their own money they would be just like the Federal Government now that I think of it. But, Maxine, wouldn't this be a TAKEOVER?"

"Damned right it would. It would be a TAXPAYER TAKEOVER, you got problems with that, Butch," Mom came back uncharacteristically.

"No Mam," muttered Butch.

Billy Roy Michum usually reflects back to our founders on topics like these. "When you think really deep about it, it gets to the 'Taxation and Representation' thing that the first Tea Party was all about. Almost half of the people in the country are represented and not taxed today. The other half pay all the taxes and are 'under-represented'. What the Hell is that all about?"

Well, needless to say Maxine got her name written on the corner of the menu board in big blue letters for a "blue ribbon idea of some significant size".

Meanwhile Scott Riddle's family celebrated Easter with their newest edition, one year old Cooper. Cooper had his picture taken as the 5th generation representative with his Great Grandmother Pat, and then to top it off, he also had 5th generation attendees on the side of his Great Granddad Scott. He had his 93 year old Great Great Aunt and his 95 year old Great Great Grandmother at the event. With 40% of today's kids born out of wedlock, Cooper has a huge head start in this world with generations of family support.

Think about it,

Jim

P. S. I asked Great Great Grandmom Neuman if she was going to nap after lunch, and she said, "Nope, I don't nap. I'm too busy." My reply, "You go girl."

Billy Roy Has a Tough Day While Socialists Are On the March

Billy Roy was pretty hot when he asked the folks at the Cafe, "Who pissed off the Drug Store Liberals and the Dairy Queen Moderates this time? I stopped for my monthly supply of Viagra and the commie druggist handed me a Popsicle stick and some duct tape. I stopped by the Dairy Queen for my weekly hot fudge, Oreo, and double chocolate blizzard with a cherry twist and happened to mention the Viagra thing. The fence sitting compromisers told me a simple band aid would probably be overkill for such a small problem. That kind of talk just ain't right. Tough day, so far."

Scott Riddle, locally famous cattleman and insurance tycoon who protects Hubbard from any Communist attacks coming from the west side of town doesn't take to those kind of pranks, "Prior to Obama the drug store folks were fairly civil and our federal government had little to no direct control or ownership of our businesses (not even the Clintons). That would be like zero. Today's estimate is that the Obama has taken control of the Finance Industry with TARP, Stimulus, and his Czar. Current proposed legislation written by the retiring Senator Chris Dodd is to establish a permanent TARP to let the Administration take over anyone they choose at anytime simply by declaring them 'too large to fail'. Obama prostituted the TARP slush fund to take over Chrysler and GM. He takes over Health Care last week and sneaks the Student College Loan Program into the legislation doubling his fun. (Double in that he picked up $61B bullshit savings for his Health Care Plan while adding another private sector business to his collection). Estimates are that this gives Obama around 50% of the US Economy under his direct control. And folks wonder why any one with any degree of courage calls Obama at least a Socialist if not worse."

Billy Roy Mitchum, locally famous C&W entertainer who now seems to have a semi-direct correspondence relationship with none other than President Obama, himself, turned to the Cafe's keeper of facts, numbers, and other items foreign to most Liberals and non-literates, Butch Jackson, "Butch, does that 50% number hold water?"

"At least," sighed Butch, "It ain't pretty. Think of the financial impact with the government in control of half of our economy. The CBO forecasted that Health Care would cost $180B in the first 10 years and would be deficit positive in the second ten years. These are the people who predicted Medicare would cost tax payers $12B by 1990. The true costs was $107B by 1990, so they missed it by a factor of 8. Smart folks think the Health Care Plan will cost a minimum of $3T in the first 10 years and go up from there."

Butch was on a roll, "The deficit, which was about 3% of GDP in President George Bush’s final year, is now exceeding 10%. (All numbers rounded and all data taken from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office.) Government debt has gone from 40% of GDP when Bush left the White House to 63% and will hit 90% by 2020. That’s the level at which new studies show that debt begins to reduce growth and jobs."
"How do we pay for this?" snorted BM.

Scott came back in, " Smart money around the poker table says we take the next Socialist step toward the bankrupted Europeans and add a VAT (Value Added Tax). Obama's hand picked bi-partisan 'Deficit Reduction Task Force' will recommend this. It is like a sales tax except hidden from the purchaser unlike a sales tax. In Europe they promised to reduce, or even eliminate, income taxes if the passed VATs. Lied like dogs, England is now 19% VAT tax and still has a 50% income tax. Which reminds me with the Health Care taxes and letting Bush's tax cuts expire our marginal tax rate will go to 44% putting goofy places like California marginals at near 60%. This will kick the economic recovery right between the legs."

"Let's not forget that the Dems will try to takeover Energy and Immigration before we can vote em out in November. I am going to bring a list of the bad guys that need to be voted out and post on our bulletin board." chimed in Joe Borger Hurd just to send folks off on a really high note.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

"Other than getting severely depressed by President Obama's take over of the American economy what can we do about it?" was the the big question put forward by none other than my Mom, Maxine, at this week's coffee.

Aunt Martha climbed onto this one, "In addition to just sitting around sniffling it seems to me a bunch of big old boys like you should have some answers." She then took out her notebook with pen in hand.

Sweet Lou Tekell, who will fill any silence, jumped on this, "I just saw where Dick Morris talked about something he called 'appropriation bills'. Seems the Obama health care bill that was passed only authorizes all this junk and creates a program. But these things called authorization bills are not appropriations which are required to fund the bill. Each year the Congress must act on appropriations for each department and agency in the government. If no funds are appropriated for Obama's Health Care Plan then nothing can be spent. So if Republicans can gain a majority in the House (where appropriations have to originate) - and especially if they also take the Senate - they will have the capacity to zero fund Obamacare after November's election."

Mom came back, "So what can we do to gain control of the House and Senate?"

Butch Jackson, keeper of all facts and figures of importance to the Hubbard City Cafe, blurted his usual, "Glad you ask. I will put what I call my Good, Bad, and Ugly list on the menu board in Bad, Ugly, and Good sequence."

The eleven Texas"Bad" guys that voted for Obamacare:
Al Green from Houston (D-09)
Ruben Hinojosa from Edinburg (D-15)
Silvestre Reyes from El Paso (D-16)
Sheila Jackson Lee from Houston (D-18)
Charles A. Gonzalez from San Antonio (D-20)
Ciro Rodriguez from San Anotonio (D-23)
Lloyd Doggett from Austin (D-25)
Solomon P. Ortiz from Corpus Christi (D-27)
Henry Cuellar from Laredo (D-28)
Gene Green from Houston (D-29)
Eddie Bernice Johnson from Dallas (D-30)

The "Ugly" guy that voted against Obamacare but probably would have voted for it if his vote was needed:
Chet Edwards from Waco (D-17)

The "Good" guys that voted against Obamacare:
Louie Gohmert (R - 01)
Ted Poe (R - 02)
Sam Johnson (R - 03)
Ralph Hall (R - 04)
Jeb Hensarling (R - 05)
Joe Barton (R - 06)
John Culberson (R - 07)
Kevin Brady (R - 08)

Michael McCaul (R - 10)
Mike Conaway (R - 11)
Kay Granger (R - 12)
Mac Thornberry (R - 13)
Ron Paul (R - 14)
Randy Neugebauer (R - 19)
Lamar Smith (R - 21)
Pete Olson (R - 22)
Kenny Marchant (R - 24)
Michael C. Burgess (R - 26)
John Carter (R - 31)
Pete Sessions (R - 32)

So Mom came back in, "So, Billy Roy, what is our call to action?"

Billy Roy Michum, in his most professorial and semi-classic C&W voice, responded, "I, Billy Roy Michum, unofficial and unelected Chairman of the Hubbard City Cafe call on all Blog Readers to copy this blog and forward it to all their contacts with a request to work their very hardest to throw out the Bad and Ugly and elect Good Guys in all House and Senate races in the year 2010 in the great State of Texas. Furthermore, I ask each to comment on this very blog and let us know how many contacts they made with this most critical and patriotic message so help me God."

And the folks said in unison, "Amen and Amen."

Do more than just thinking about it,

Jim
