The Miners In Chile Didn't Need The ACLU

Aunt Martha reported the turnout for coffee at the Cafe was fairly light today what with Obama appearing on every one's favorite channel, that being MTV.

Butch says, "Dennis Miller says the Pres is running out of audiences he can pen up and get to listen to him. In fact Miller says the miners in Chile came up early to avoid Obama who was threatening to go down and hold one of his town hall meetings in the caved in shaft."

Scottie Anderson, father of the offensive co-ordinator of the Mississippi Southern University football team and local song leader at the number 1 Baptist Church in Hubbard, took over the discussion from here, "The ACLU and other Lib Elites had a bad day yesterday. An evil American company, Center Rock Inc., took it on themselves when they heard the miners would not be reached until Christmas, at the earliest, to take their drilling technology to Chile. They started with a 5 inch hole that ran down to the distressed miners and within 33 days had increased the hole to 28 inches enabling them to have the miners out in 69 days instead of the 150 days fore casted. This certainly saved some lives, and maybe all 33 of the miners."

"And wow, would we like to have Chile's President, Sebastian Pinera. He is the real thing. A seemingly honest, hands-on, positive, Christian leader. No junk about separating God and State here. He asked for God's help, and thanked God in his first act once the miners were freed. President Pinera really seems like he is a man of the people. He praised the life, health, integrity, and dignity of Chile's workers.  Sounds like that old fashioned stuff that our founding fathers called 'natural rights granted by our creator'."

"Did you hear the first things the miners asked to be sent to them down in the mine were toothpaste and Bibles. One miner named Sepulva, said 'I have been with God and with the devil. I was given a choice. I seized the hand of God, it was the best hand. I always knew God would get us out of there'."

"Survivor experts say when people are faced with the issue of 'am I going to live through this, or is this the end?' the single strongest determining factor is their belief in God. The US Navy did an exhaustive study that resulted in Faith in God as clearly the most important factor in surviving life threatening situations."

About this time Scottie was interrupted by the strong voice of Billy Roy blaring over the speaker phone, "Maybe folks will wake up and even start talking to God in other places where we need some help.  Places like schools, congress, and even football games."

Since Hubbard folks aren't talking about football games this year that pretty much broke the coffee meeting up, right there.

God, please help only those of us who need it,

Mr. Obama: Disclose This!!

"Did you folks see that Billy Mack Waller (who runs the Country Kitchen across from the Cafe), got so fired up about Jim's blog on religious liberty that he put up a new sign? It says 'In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash', " these opening remarks from Joe Borger Heard kept the folks from having to talk about Hubbard's homecoming loss which took the place of their first win of the season, again.

"Meanwhile, our President says he is working day and night to create jobs for the American people. Seems to me that employers create jobs by running successful operations. The better the company does, the more jobs the company creates, and the better employees do. So why isn't Obama helping businesses? Just seems that simple, and yet this Harvard and Columbia graduate (maybe he did or maybe he didn't) just doesn't seem to grasp this first principle of Capitalism. He constantly shows his unbecoming hatred for employers, that is all employers except those government and union employers."

Well Butch Jackson, almost fully recovered from some major surgery is beginning to feel his oats again, "With last week culminating in an increase in unemployment, this poor excuse for a President, Barack Obama, told a crowd in Philadelphia this weekend that;'special interest groups' like the Chamber of Commerce are 'spending unlimited amounts of money on attack ads.' The President continued: 'It could be the oil industry. It could be the insurance industry. It could even be foreign-owned corporations. You don’t know because they don’t have to disclose. ... Now, that’s not just a threat to Democrats - that’s a threat to our democracy'. Obviously this is a sleazy attempt to attempt to silence debate as the President faces a huge defeat in mid-term elections."

"Obama will be pushing what he calls 'The Disclose Act' that would exempt labor unions and other Obama interest groups while trying to silence the voices of free enterprise before his 2012 election. On Face the Nation this Sunday, even CBS host Bob Schieffer confronted White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod about a New York Times article showing that White House charges of 'secret foreign money' 'stealing our democracy' were completely baseless. Schieffer asked: 'Is this the only charge, three weeks into the election that the Democrats can make that somehow this may or may not be foreign money coming into the campaign?' He then asked Axelrod 'can you prove it?' To which Axlerod answered 'can you prove they aren't?' Shieffer, who usually carries water for the Libs answered, 'Is that the best you can do'? Seems even Obama supporters are beginning to recognize sleaze when it is rubbed all over them."

"He constantly demonizes American companies while passing every red tape regulation you can imagine to bog businesses down while increasing taxes and government mandates like health care. Hell, he still has a freeze on drilling for oil in the Gulf that applies to everyone but China, Cuba, and Mexico."

Billy Roy Mitchum could hold back no longer having just read a copy of the Tyler Courier Times that a friend provided free of any charges since BM is fully recovering from back surgery and was calling in on one of those fancy speaker phones, "Meanwhile, let me tell you about one of these evil American companies just up the road east of here in Tyler, Texas. For the past two years Brookshires Grocery Company has chartered a private plane and flown World War II Veterans to Washington, D.C. They call it their 'Heroes Flight'."

"This year 37 veterans participated, all free of charge. The company provides everything for the trip with 25 escorts including nurses to accompany those who require special care."

"The veterans are sent off from Dallas after a fire hose salute on the runway. Crowds enthusiastically applaud as they board in Dallas and they deplane in Washington. Senator John Cornyn of Texas hosts our heroes as they tour the Senate, World War II Memorial, and Military Cemeteries. Every veteran's story dwarfs anything most of us will ever do in our lifetimes. Talking about that time in their lives is still difficult for most, but they are more comfortable sharing these stories among themselves. You know how that it."

"Thank goodness several were recorded like Basil Dollins, 86, of Gladewater, still struggles with the memory of 19 dead crewmen laid out on the deck of the USS Pensacola, hit eight times by shore batteries while covering the Marine landing at Okinawa. 'Hundreds more were wounded,' he said, 'but I remember those 19'."

"J.W. Gresham, 90, of Tyler, was a private in the U.S. Army and was captured during the Battle of the Bulge. He recalls the sheer terror of being locked in a German boxcar with 60 other POWs as British planes bombed the rail yard. Gresham would remain a POW for 139 days."

"Hank Pendergrass, 86, of Tyler, saw combat as a tech sergeant with the 27th Infantry on Okinawa. 'We went in with 160 men, and only 60 came out,' he said. 'We added 30 men as replacements and went in a second time … again, only 60 came out'.

American companies like Brookshires are rarely recognized for truly patriotic acts unless someone like BM speaks up. They should not be demonized by anyone, and much less someone like Barrack Obama who has never done one constructive discoverable thing. These companies not only have a right, but an obligation, to voice their opinions.

Our veterans continue to make huge sacrifices for our liberties. They deserve our thanks, respect, and give more than we can ever repay.

And our children and grandchildren deserve better than to have their futures wrecked by Obama, Axelrod, and cronies.

And On the 8th Day God Needs to Come Back and Repair Families

Chairman Billy Roy kicked off today's discussion, "Scott, you have the floor.  We have stirred up a lot of dust about the problems of our educational systems, and we did some serious dumping on people like Opra, and as I recollect, you were going to suggest some specific things that need to be done to first improve our family situations, and in turn our schools as well."  As evidenced here, there are certain times that BM's sentences get pretty long.

Scott Riddle responded, "Well the preamble is mine, and then most of the other things I have to say come from school teachers I know.  My preamble has to do with this 'separation of church and state thing' that the Libs crow about.  It is a fact that no where can this church and state separation thing be found in the Declaration of Independence nor the US Constitution.  The term was used by one Thomas Jefferson in a letter in which he was worried about protecting states, local governments, and the folks from the Federal Government forcing a particular religion on everyone like they did in England.  Old smart Tom wanted to separate the state from supporting a particular religion not to separate the state from God."

"He never intended to ban God from government, schools, football games, or any other place where the people choose to pray or talk about God.  In fact the founding fathers would tell us that we have no chance of making this republic form of government work without basing our governance on Judeo Christian principles.  Our fundamental right of Religious Liberty was intended to enable people the freedom to worship and spread their religion as they choose."

"The reason I mention this first is that anyone who wants to ban God from our children and our schools is not serious about fixing our problems.  In closing on this issue I would pose the question:  What nation would be stupid enough to let a tiny group of atheists force their people to attempt to solve their problems without God's help?  Can't be done, and the founders and all smart people know it.  Who would want to stop people from praying that God watch over their football players?  Particularly if you have a real good team."

"Since our government likes to regulate things to protect us, let's give them a list of things to regulate to assist families and by assisting families assisting schools as well:

"So number 1, let's start by making sure all laws and policies support and encourage marriage while discouraging divorce and having children out of wedlock.  And, don't even think about redefining marriage to include same sexes, polygamist, or any other crazy ideas.  Half of all marriages today end in divorce, and 42% of Blacks, 30 years and older, have never  been married, while 65% of Black children are reared by single parents.  Today's welfare and divorce laws weaken the institution of marriage."

"Number 2, laws and policies should encourage and support work and make welfare rare, and truly a safety net.  If mothers continue to have children out of wedlock, they should not be rewarded.  In fact, if this situation persists, the children should be removed, adopted,  and put into good homes.  Do welfare the old fashioned way."

"Number 3, fathers should be held financially responsible for their offspring period)."

"Number 4, 'Do Gooders' should be allowed tax breaks for helping the East side of their hometowns.  Instead of unmarried Movie Stars adopting kids in Kenya and using them for publicity photos on magazine covers and then handing them off to nannies, they should adopt needy children in East Los Angeles, East Austin, or East Hubbard City.  My gosh, we have all seen the problems caused by bringing Kenyan kids to the US, just look at the White House."

The same thing is true for churches, charities, and local businesses who spend money and resources in poor countries around the world while doing very little for their own communities leaving it to the government who just screws it up and makes it worse."

"Number 5, REGULATE AND ENFORCE our existing immigration laws like the President and Congress have pledged to do.  What sane nation would take an education system drowning with students from bad families and dump another 10 million or so non-English speaking, non-tax paying illegal law breakers on top of the mess?  Enforce the borders and then create responsible immigration policies and enforce the law.  Impeach any politician who refuses to do so, starting with the head man."

"Number 6, as the founders intended, get the federal government out of family issues and education.  Eliminate the Department of Education and leave communities alone to take care of their own children.  Leave those taxes at home.  Don't take them to Washington and make locals kiss rear ends to get there money back."

"Seventh and last cause I ran out of ink, encourage families and schools to practice their Right of Religious Liberty striving to follow God's natural laws and the golden rule (love thy neighbor as thyself) as best we can without forcing any specific religion or church on any citizen.  Like most things God will fix these problems if we ask Him and listen real good."

Butch couldn't resist getting into the act, "Great ideas, Scott.  If we could attack these family issues it would be easy to change some school things like paying good teachers for good work, firing bad teachers, disciplining the students (heck get the paddle back out), and getting the unions, atheists, and socialists out of the schools.  Replace the Federal Department of Education with a House Committee on Un-American Activities and turn them loose on those communists meddling with school children."

Billy Roy was quick to add a suggestion as well.  "Regarding the kid's school menu and forcing them to eat those eqq whites, I don't think a hamburger, some peach cobbler, or a little fried chicken now and then is going to overly harm the little squirts.  Heck, look at us. We are more apt to live too long than not long enough, and we ate the good stuff."

Well, the Cafe folks have given us some stuff to think about.  I still think we could speed all this up if we divorced California from these United States.  In hind sight the Spaniards played a dirty trick by getting us to annex those people.

Special Report on Health Care: Obama Lies Like a Dog

President Obama assured us that if we liked our current insurance plans that we could keep them back when he was telling us how good Obamacare was going to be. Obama lied like a dog.

On October 9 of 2010, this writer received a letter: IMPORTANT NOTICE: Your Medicare Drug Coverage is changing. The Pyramid Life Insurance Company will no longer offer your plan beginning Jan. 1, 2011 (that gives me less than 3 mos. to react which is more time the the Dems are giving us to know our tax rates for 2011). Seems my friends and I are all getting either a cancellation letter like this or one saying our premiums are going up, all as a result of Obamacare.  Have you checked your mail?

As the September 22 edition of the Washington Examiner points out, Americans have more reason for outrage now than ever. Topping $2.5 trillion, the law (which at 2,400 pages costs about $10.4 billion a page) drives up health care costs in both public and private plans. It spends a healthy chunk of that sum not caring for but killing innocent unborn children. Maybe your plan is pro-life. But if you like it, you probably can't keep it. "By Obama's estimates, as many as 69% of employees, 80% of small businesses, and 64% of large businesses will be forced to change coverage." Premiums are up--tax relief is down. And if your health coverage isn't bureaucrat-approved, the IRS will pocket your tax return. Fortunately, the final vote on the health care bill wasn't the end of the debate. As more and more people wake up to what Congress and this President have done, more voters will rise up in protest and hopefully by no later than November 2.

Six months ago, President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rammed Obamacare down the throats of an unwilling American public. Half a year removed from the unprecedented legislative chicanery and backroom dealing that characterized the bill's passage, we know much more about the bill than we did then. A few of the revelations:

» Obamacare won't decrease health care costs for the government.  Costs will clearly go up.

» As written, Obamacare covers elective abortions, contrary to Obama's promise that it wouldn't.

» Obamacare won't allow employees or most small businesses to keep the coverage they have and like. By Obama's estimates, as many as 69 percent of employees, 80 percent of small businesses, and 64 percent of large businesses will be forced to change coverage, probably to more expensive plans.

» Obamacare will increase insurance premiums -- in some places, it already has.

» Obamacare will force seasonal employers -- especially the ski and amusement park industries -- to pay huge fines, cut hours, or lay off employees.

» Obamacare forces states to guarantee not only payment but also treatment for indigent Medicaid patients.

Make no mistake about it.  This is all a brutal and devious plan to drive create a health care disaster, blame the inusurance companies and Republicans, and drive all but the political elite to a single payer socialistic government run health care system controlled by those who want to reform America and redistribute wealth to themselves and their voters.  This is right out of the Lenin, Stalin, Castro, and Chavez playbook.

Never has a citizen's single course of action been clearer. Throw these guys out of office and repeal this law ASAP.

Don't even think about it.  Just do it.

Feeding Kids a Secular Egg White Breakfast Won't Fix the Education Problem!!!

Scott Riddle promised to get back to the cafe to continue the discussion on education but was late doing so since the threw his back out doing something that he is keeping real personal.  In any case he finally showed up and the following discussion was reported by Aunt Martha.

Trying to gain the Cafe audience's attention requires some real strategy, well honed tactics, and a little showmanship at times. A fact not missed by an accomplished country and western performer and current residing Chairman of the Hubbard City Cafe like Billy Roy Mitchum, "Let's get back to this Opra thing. In typical Opra fashion she thinks if her Obama crowd can hoodwink folks with a little entertainment to tug on the heartstrings people will feel like she and her rich elite liberal friends can convince folks they are solving their problems like with the schools. This is how they feel good about themselves by helping peons like us. When the crap clears all they have done is spend our money on union salaries (who vote for their buddies), pensions, and school breakfasts that most kids won't eat."

"Opra and Michelle Obama try to convince us that if we serve ghetto kids a healthy breakfast of egg whites, pay their teachers (Obama voters) more money, stop saying prayers in school, report Islam as the religion of peace in all school books, and hang Barrack Hussein Obama pictures on every wall that we can all feel better about things for a while. Obama would say that others before him, that being George Bush, have dug such a deep hole and pushed our schools into that hole that it will take him a while to get the kids out."

"You are way more than just being right," Scott Riddle waded into the discussion. Clearly he had been tutored by his daughter Donna, one of the world's greatest 2nd grade school teachers residing just outside the Hubbard City limits. "As usual the last thing Opra and Obama's crew want people to focus on is the truth about the problems with our schools,"

Scott went silent knowing the folk's rear ends were barely clinging to the edge of the cafe straight backs. "Don't get me wrong, I am the first to say the schools need to kick the unions out right after they kick the federal government out, and then hold the teachers accountable, but that won't fix the problem. The problem starts at home with the family."

"Pure and simple, good families send good students to good schools. Then all the teachers have to do is teach. Bad schools today, many in those big cities like Newark, have poor children who have no parents (or a single parent many times unemployed and on welfare), with a system that says the more brothers and sisters, the bigger the government check for the caretaker (many times a grandmother). Each additional child means less time at home to prepare the student. These kids come to school with no preparation, no manners, no concept of morals, no discipline, no respect for anyone much less authority, and no religious values. School restrictions not only prohibit prayer but most disciplinary action as well. You put 30 of these kids in a classroom and the teacher has no chance of success. And what does Washington do? They make the teacher focus on getting the kids to pass some stupid test.  Oh, yea, and force the schools to feed them those egg whites for breakfast.  Who the hell likes egg whites?"

"Good parents have no choice but to try to send their kids to special schools with students who come from other good parents. Charter schools with bad parents would be no better than public schools with bad parent."

"And here comes Opra to the rescue. She is unmarried, believes any form of religion is OK as long as it doesn't intrude on any one's behavior, and is anything but a strong advocate of family values. Hell each of her homes is larger than any public school."

"So what do we do, Scott", Mom was near tears having been the Secretary to the Hubbard School Superintendent for many years in the good old days of quality education.

"We go forward by going back. Our founders created a Republic based on man's divine nature of freedom, responsibility, and rights that come from God. The founders knew, and warned us, that if these principles were trampled on, not only would our schools fail, but our Republic as well. When our government kicks God out of the classroom, subverts families in their homes by acting as welfare pimps to buy votes, weakens the concept of family to the point of even redefining marriage, and even creates crises to gain more central control of schools in violation of Constitutional Law what chance does a school teacher have? Even one as good as Donna Riddle. Given time, this big government, run by elite power hungry slime bags, will defeat Donna and drive the good teachers out."

"Local folks need to kick the federal government out of schools, keep more of our money at home and out of Washington, and get off our butts and help local families in need through our churches, charities, and businesses. It will take a generation to reverse the problems and is if we start right now, but it is sure as hell worth it. A vote on November 2 is a good way to start, but it is really just a very small step on a pretty long trip."

Billy Roy summed things up, "Scott, you've given this a lot of good thought.  Could you and Donna come back later in the week with 5 or 6 key things we can forward to our political friends and try to get this thing moving?"

This was one of those rare days where the folks didn't hurry to their trucks. The folks don't like anyone messing with their children and grandchildren. There was some degree of silence, and then they started on a really long trip.  The road they are on isn't that crowded so there is plenty of room to join up.

Think about it,

"Obama-Ed", By Any Other Name, Smells Like Nazi Germany

George C. Scott, playing the role of General Patton, was watching his troops destroy the German General Erwin Rommel's tanks in the dessert when he said with great relish, "I read your book, you brilliant SOB". Well, the folks at the Cafe have read some books as well.

"Adolph Hitler was elected by 98% of the German vote that was driven by misplaced patriotism and the German people's greed. The German lunatic and his communications guru, Joseph Goebbels, had convinced the folks that the government would take care of them," Billy Roy Mitchum opened what some feared to be an aimless history lesson. What with the Hubbard Jaguars win less so far this very long season the folks didn't have much in the way of other things to talk about nor to listen to.

"Hitler then gave away free radios right before he nationalized the radio stations. In another two stepper he looted the banks, and then nationalized them because they were in trouble because they had been looted (sound anything like Goldman Sachs and Washington DC's crony capitalism). On a roll, he took over the one auto manufacturer so that he could build the 'people's car' for the 98% of the folks that voted for him (and it wasn't even electric). Then came nationalizing education, religion, and of course, health care."

Billy Roy, wanting to relieve some tension because the folks were seeing some parallels here, proclaimed, "If you are following the news closely you will notice that EDUCATION is the next thing on the Obama wish list. Thank goodness Obama doesn't have 98% of the voters behind him."

Well, Scott Riddle, local cattle baron and father of one of the very best 2nd grade teachers in these United States, came alive, "Don't think that will stop him one bit, BM. Obama and his Chicago goons are taking the 'Oprah' route to a complete federal takeover of education."

The folks got really interested in this particular conversation knowing that Scott is one of the very few that could challenge BM in any way and not liking much about what they know about Oprah.  They listened their very hardest just as BM said, "Hows that, Scott, and what in the heck is the Oprah route?"

"Obama had Oprah set the stage for him last week right there in their home park of Chicago. She brought the Oprah Circus to town. Oprah featured a new movie called 'Waiting for Superman' about bringing changes to public education because it is in CRISIS like Wall Street, autos, and health care were before Obama fixed them. Oprah brings together Arnie Duncan, former school superintendent from Chicago and Obama's director of Education, the black Mayor of Newark, N.J., the teen age looking CEO of Facebook, and throws in the New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie, making it all  look kinda 'bi-partisan'. The Facebook CEO is giving a 'challenge grant' to the Newark school system of $100 million (with an M). This illustrious group even use the big lie that they will take on the Teachers Union in their attempts to help the kids. TV doesn't get better than this."

"President Obama followed Oprah's show with an interview with that jerk, NBC's Matt Laur, and said it 'is heartbreaking' when you see what parents are dealing with. He then discussed what his education chief, Duncan, calls 'the quiet revolution'. Obama boasted to Lauer that what he calls his 'Race to the Top' program was 'probably the most powerful tool we've seen for education reform in a couple of decades'."

Scott was loaded for bear, "What Obama did not say was that 'The Race to the Top' competition, with $4.3 billion in economic stimulus money, was tied directly to the Teacher's Unions. In fact, one of the criteria for winning a federal grant was securing teachers' union support. Some states lost out for this reason. Others didn't even bother to compete because of clashes with union bosses. This whole ploy is to quietly increase federal control, while reducing the role of states, localities and individuals. Ultimately they will centralize control with federal bureaucrats (just like Obamacare). Congress has had no say in the matter."

Butch Jackson's hackles were raised way high, "Thank goodness Rick Perry (Governor of the Great State of Texas) ain't buying this at all.  Governor Perry said, 'So, we know what works for our children. And the fact is that Washington's Race to the Top, with their national standards, and their national testing -- yet to be worked out, of course -- we think would be devastating to the young people in the state of Texas.'  I guess Rick's not falling for that Hitler free radio.  He knows it smells like Obama-Ed."

Sometimes a truck can cool down so far that they are hard to get started again so Sweet Lou Tekell interrupted by suggesting that the folks, "Reconvene on this subject later in the week expecting Scott to provide some insight into how they can stop Obama from running Scott's daughter's second grade school room." The folks unanimously seconded Lou's motion which eliminated the need for a vote.

Think about it and stay tuned,

Jim

Obama-land: Home of the FREE---Tomorrow

"Welcome to Obama-land, Land of the FREE," opened the semi-tutorial of one of the local Hubbard EMS drivers named Elmo Bumpers who thinks he is pretty much expert on all things medical. Some folks at the Cafe think Elmo is just a front man for insurance tycoons like Scottie Anderson and Scott Riddle. At least that is what goes around at the Dairy Queen, filling station, post office, and drug store; the normal channels in Hubbard where public opinion flows. Anyway, this is what Bumpers had to say.

"This week this skinny little President celebrates the six month anniversary of all the neat things he has done for people with his health care plan---and he still says it is all free."

"First, Obamacare bans insurance companies from refusing to cover kids with pre-existing conditions."

"Next, he bans insurance companies from dropping coverage of policy holders."

"Then, he promises the insurance companies will cover preventive care at no cost."

"On a roll, Obamacare forces insurance companies to cover children (young adults) until age 26 on their parent's policies."

"The last provision he starts immediately is free immunization for all kids."

"For some strange reason many insurance companies have raised the premiums on their coverage by as much as 15-20% even though Obama says it is all free, and Obamacare really doesn't even kick in with the real costly stuff until in later years," Elmo seems to have learned how to be what he calls, sarcastic.

His newly learned sarcasm continued, "I know this increase can not be because of all these 'free' bans and stuff because the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, has warned insurance executives and State Governors that they could not raise premiums and blame Obamacare being the crooks that these business guys and Governors are, 'There will be zero tolerance for this type of misinformation and unjustified rate increases,' Ms. Sebelius wrote. 'We will not stand idly by as insurers blame their premium hikes and increased profits on the requirement that they provide consumers with basic protections'," Elmo read this right off a page he had in his orange EMS coverall's main pocket.

Nothings better than some good old free basic protections from Washington, DC the capitol of the Land of the Free.

Billy Mack Waller, who runs the Country Kitchen in Hubbard, which is right across the street from the Hubbard City Cafe, has a sign over the front door:
